I use those sony rock'n buds or whatever the fuck they are called. They sound nice

d5000's. They are really fun.
Senn's are nice. Beyerdynamic. Audio Technica. Grado's are nice if you're really into rock. Koss has some really good sounding models for under $50. Stay away from Beats, Bose, and Skull Candy. You're paying a premium for ad campaigns, not build quality.

Beats have very good build quality. They're way over priced and the sound quality is horrible.

Out and about, I use the new Apple EarPods. They're pretty killer for the price.

In the studio/at home, I use a pair of Legacy PH-50 cans. Incredibly cheap, but really nice bass and high-end response!
I occasionally use my more expensive closed-back Shures for recording. Not sure of the model, but they have really clear sound, albeit little bass response (s'what you get with closed backs, though!)

Beats and Skullcandy headphones overall are so damn overpriced for what you actually get, is a crime.

I'm no audiophile, and I'm not a producer, but I've always found that these cheap-ass no-name Chinese earbuds do the job. They have excellent bass reproduction and, for the most part, last for about a year of heavy use.

I mostly use ear duds, which is what those little ones are called. I heard my brother bought a pair of headphones that cost a hundred bucks! Why would you spend money on something you could get for ten percent of that price, which is also much smaller and therefore easier to move around? Eh, they probably do have better sound systems, but I wouldn't do it.

Had a $200 pair of Sole Republics whose quality was utter crap. The only good thing about them is that the ears were detachable, so it was really easy and a fun experience listening to music with a friend.

My $30 Sennheiser's 201S are miles better, only issue with them is that the cable is really, really long. Gotta take the good with the bad I guess.

Beats suck. Get JR Audio, Shure, although they're starting to overprice a littler they're still worth it. Just google "Moniter heaphones" and you'll get all the ones that are good while being priced fairly.

Thanks NG for all of your feedback; I will now be looking into various headsets before I finally make a decision. I'm investing in new headphones, bass guitar, and speakers to go into my soon to be studio.

Sennheiser HD428 over-ears when I'm at home, Audio-Technica CK32 in-ears when I'm out. The Sennheisers are alright; pretty even sound overall, though lacking a bit in bass, but I have a small headphone amplifier that has a bass-boost feature so that helps. My in-ears are great for hearing details and obviously much better than earbuds, but are also a bit lacking in bass.

I wanted to get a pair of Grado SR 225i headphones (my Sennheisers are basic $70 headphones) but then I lost my job and haven't been able to save up any significant amount of money since.

I use my PS3 wireless surround sound headset for gaming and some shitty earplugs for music when I'm on the bus.

SLYR from Skullcandy, then my cat chew through the cord on the bus and the mic is the only part that wors with the console... So I bought cheap 50 TB's that work juwst fine...
