That is a retarded thing to say.

Also it's Dubstep, not Brostep. The fuck is Brostep?!

europe has never made better music than the u.s. - mostly due to having a lower percentage of blacks

I never did care for the jazz music.

I think you are a mong, sir.

Just because you don't like a certain genre doesn't mean it's " shit ".

I personally really enjoy dubstep, all sorts of it. Even Skrillex. If someone said heavy metal is slowing down rock because its shit, it would just sound stupid. I personally don't like heavy metal, but a lot of others do, it's in a category of its own much like dubstep and "I can totally see a massive pattern because you and your silly friend decided you don't like dubstep " . Oh dear.

I know shit all about music but it sounds like Brostep was popularized by anti-Skrillex people who hate his music so that they can separate Skrillex music from the type of dubstep they like which is fucking retarded cause its all still dubstep

No no no. Their combination of beeps and boops is clearly better than any combination of beeps and boops that Skrillex could conjure.

I've heard a lot of pop songs that, to my limited knowledge (because what the fuck is dubstep anyway?), have incorporated dubstep into them.

Taylor Swift's done such a song.

I think there's a Kanye West/Jay-Z song with some.

Imagine Dragons and Alex Clare, on "alternative" radio, have acoustic/indie sing-alongs with WUBWUBWUB for the chorus. Alex Clare's was big on pop radio too, actually.

A Target commercial had a song that did the big DROP, which made me lol

What are you talking about? 2012 has spawned a couple of completely new genres (moombahton, trap) and the whole ''EDM'' fad (which is bullcrap) is dominating the charts. You shouldn't be paying too much attention to the popular stuff and dig a bit deeper.

there's a guide to electronic music here

i would argue that a lot of the genres are not "real" genres (such as gloomcore and dark house), but it's a good guide regardless

Jesus, is that site still around? You do realise that guide is biased as fuck and outdated as well?

But dubstep has no beeps or boops.

"I hate this music, so it must have stopped music evolution"

Implying one genre of music can ever stop music from evolving, that's a lie.

Because it's wrong.

Yeah TBH, the more I hear kids making distinctions between dubstep artists and their "styles" and how you all kind of love or hate Skrillex and call his stuff brostep, the more laughable the entire genre of music is.

Personally I love dubstep but the fact that every vid on youtube I look at has a bunch of whiney kids saying, "THIS ISN'T REAL DUBSTEP"

TLDR: Nobody gives a shit what you think real music is, go rant on Youtube with the rest of your kind.
