I was disappointed when This Is Vegas was cancelled, as was I when Brutal Legend was confirmed not to have a sequel.

What video game cancellations disappointed you?

Yikes, that Vegas game looks like an awful lot of boring.
I can't remember many games I've anticipated being cancelled, I just hate when their release dates get set back. GTA IV was a long wait for me.

Star Fox 2, the holy grail of all unreleased Super Nintendo Games of it's time period, as for Earthbound 64, they should of brought that out too, or at least release it's game-boy advanced version Mother 3 to the US but instead, it was released only in Japan.

I'm a huge Mother fanboy, but I think it would have sucked on the N64. The promo video and the screenshots look really fucking bad. And I don't think it would've had the quirky charm that people love about it.

As for Mother, just get a rom and the translation patch. Nintendo supports it, it's not even really illegal.

I was very disappointed with Rare's move to Microsoft at the time. They made a lot of the N64's best games and then there weren't going to be any sequels to them on the Gamecube. Such a shame.

Retro had to stop working on the game because nintendo wanted them to work more on metroid prime.
Dinosaur planet is a game that i would've liked to see, but it eventually was turned into StarFox adventures.

Starfox Adventures was a pretty poor game, would Dinosaur Planet be much different if they had such a similar basis?

It was a POOR STARFOX GAME, so in a sense, it would've been much better if seen as a new IP. They changed it to starfox because miyamoto thought the main character looked like Fox.

It had a lot more dynamics they didn't show in that demo, such as the fact that it's actually a much more open-world GTA-style game. There were actually gunplay mechanics that weren't shown at all, as well as the typical open-world trimmings like shootouts with cops. The club gameplay was just icing on the cake.

But anyway, we can forget about all of that now since the game is dead.

Really? Last I heard, it was cancelled because of the 2011 earthquake...too bad Kazuma doesn't have the IP to the game.

Yeah, it looked like a typically chunky N64 game, while on the GBA it's a great-looking game in its own way. If nothing else the character models are incredibly expressive, and that wouldn't have been possible on N64.

Yes, seconding this for everyone else who posted about Mother 3. It's easy to find and simple to install, just do it guys, it's (not exaggerating) one of the best games of all time and this is the only way you'll ever get to play it.

The fan translation is surprisingly well-done and naturalistic. And it's interesting because it has some language and suggestive things that Nintendo probably would have removed during localization to ensure an E rating. Makes me wonder what might have been censored out of EarthBound during the translation process.

Yeah, it wasn't right that N64. Personally, I think it looked worse than Ocarina of Time. It just looked aweful.

There are a couple "damn"s in there.

For anyone worried about the legal stuff, the translation team openly stated to Nintendo (via emails, etc) and fans, that if Nintendo had even so much as mentioned an issue with the translation, they would end the project. And Nintendo, even to this day, have said nothing.

This. It makes the open ending in the original game even more depressing now. I wish Microsoft could allow those guys to soar to those heights again.
