lol, I remember playing a political simulator called "Superpowers 2" and we decided to, as America, invade this country called "Oman" and it pissed off the entire world. So every world power diverted their military might, America bound.....EXCEPT for Australia.
In the game, Australia is like "Oh shit, guys, you have thousands of naval war-ships traveling across the Pacific towards you...what do!?" and by that time, we were being invaded from all over...The United Arab Emerates somehow got Texas, and the East Coast was just totally lost....so we diverted everything we had to flee America and occupy Australia, and they were like, "Um...we don't like that very much, could you please gtfo"
Then all the world powers that were too late to claim some mainland US decided to redirect to Australia to clean us out, and Australia was like "SHIT. SHIT. GET OUT GET OUT" and we were like "Ignore. Ignore. Ignore." and finally Australia initiated a ground war with the remnants of our US forces, while we're getting naval bombardments from Russia and Japan, aerial strikes....shit was over in a couple of in-game days.
.....Yeah, so my point is, Australia would probably be on our side more than anything. But they wouldn't put up with our shit, probably. Finders keepers! That shit's theirs to keep.

I think I could have phrased that better
I meant to say that the oil found from this article was found in SA a.k.a my state

Implying I gave enough of a shit to read the article.
We should focus more on implementing alternative fuel sources.

Nice is a factor, affordable is another, more important one.

You idiot, this is now though. It's perfectly valid to reference the past like that, even if it wasn't the most intelligent thing.

DID YOU HEAR THAT GUYS what a pussy
I was hoping we'd get over oil within my life time. Now I fear I will never live to see the possible Utopian future, where everything is electric, sourced from the earth and given back in to it at the same rate. When I go to a city, the air is as clean as at home.
You know in Mumbai, India, if you walk around in the city for a day it's the equivalent of 20 normal cigarettes? Industry is of course incredible but it is disgusting.
This is really upsetting. The more we rely on old ways of doing things (which we can, again, with short-sightedness), we will never progress.

Hmmm...I wonder how long it will be until Obama the Murderer needs to "liberate", "empower democracy", or find "insurgents" in Australia.

Green energy would be nice. Unfortunately, the government keeps the price to high for it to be economically viable on a large scale.
If you want affordable green energy in your lifetime, vote libertarian next time.
Hybrids and electric cars are shit and are actually more harmful to the environment and less cost effective then you think.
plus they are outright useless.

The Libertarian Party in my country does have a few good ideas but have mostly incredibly flawed ideas that I don't agree with. I assume you mean the US party.
For my first vote, it depends what constituency I'm in.
Where the hell do you get that many barrels?
That should keep the V8 touring cars going for a few more years. It's basically Australian NASCAR, there's only 2 manufacturers and all the fans like to have a big fight with each other (after downing about 20 beers each).

They're actually terrible for the environment, because the energy used to charge them while plugged in, comes from burning coal
