Then there's the music that takes a little research to find but is far superior to what is constantly advertised - the microbrews. And of course you get the pretentious snobs who only like the most obscure stuff, no matter the quality and will ditch it as soon as it gets somewhat popular (you can find the beer equivalent here.)
