I've been working on a game and now I'm working on the characters, but unfortunately i can't do it. The game is a 8 direction shooter (front, back, both sides and diagonals) and the art is pretty much square-ish but i can only make the diagonals. Every time i try to make the other directions it seems that has the wrong proportions.
Can someone help me with this? (giving me tips to rotate diagonals and keep the "real size" of it or giving me examples)
Havegum has a nice isometric tutorial here.
For a front/back perspective, straighten your bottom left to top right lines and keep all your vertical lines the same height. Ignore the bottom right to left lines.
For the side perspective, straighten your bottom right to top left lines and keep all your vertical lines the same height. Ignore the bottom left to top right lines.
