Thats not really an argument. Also I dont see how it is a sub-genre, genres can split you know and they sound nothing alike and share no similarities apart from irregularness.

Obviously they do and you are in denial.

Because when people say dubstep sometimes they mean brostep, as in this thread (judging from the wubwbwub joke), otherwise I wouldnt of mentioned it.

Why do you think it is a sub-genre though?

You like MA too?

Not really, it just has the highest quality playback for the song on Youtube

Why can't people enjoy music for what it is and stop this needless notion of validating their opinions by bashing another genre of music they don't appreciate.

I like Dubstep, it's by no means insightful or anything - but boy does it get me pumped.

Response to Defend Dubstep! 2013-01-23 03:33:30

I personally like some dubstep, it's the fans that think all electronic music has drops and crap that ruins it for me and other fans.

I decided to look a bit deeper into dubstep for myself, rather than just listen to what is popular in the dubstep/brostep genre currently, and I found the album Extend by Milanese which I like a lot.

Turns out, dubstep is just like any other genre; lots of shit on the surface, with good music underneath waiting to be found by those willing to look.

It made more sense in my head.

Quite much this.
Sweet, another person gets it.

Liquid Dubstep is the bomb though
That's just some hater stuff right there, Skrillex is better than most dubstep artists.

THIS. Has anyone ever just sat down and really analysed Skrillex's synth work? It's really quite remarkable what he does with FM synthesis.

Drum and bass mixed with some brostep.

I should correct myself, its a poorly done babbys first drum and bass track with some generic brostep sounds over it after a generic intro and the boring old overused drop that brostep fans seem to masturbate furiously over.

Yeah I don't get the hype for it either. It's all about ghettofunk - that was the best thing in the last few years to spawn from all this,

Ghetto Funk is great because it does everything and rarely/never gets old!

This is a song about cum on hotel walls.

he didn't start it. his fans did. he didn't send a mass message to all of his fans, stating something along the lines of "yo fanbase, turn into annoying squeaky fanboy zealots for me? cool, thanks guys".

you can't tell me you hate a person because of the people that like him.
