That Restoration is indeed a valid school of magic. It is absolutely worthy of research, despite many of the notes I've had left in my bed. And my desk. And on occasion, my meals. Anyone suggesting that Restoration is better left to the priests of the Temples, I think, is forgetting a few things.

Firstly, the ability to repel the undead cannot be ignored. Skyrim is well known to be full of these... Draugr, ancient Nord warriors who cannot find peace. I submit that everyone in this College has, at one time or another, relied on one of the Restoration spells that can keep them at bay.

Secondly, how can anyone forget wards? They have become essential to any mage working in dangerous situations. They are counted upon every bit as much as Candlelight, or Invisibility. But more importantly, wards have saved lives. This is a simple fact. Every mage in this College regularly uses wards for practice, so as to avoid physical harm. I truly hope that these points actually sink in, and that more care and thought is given to this subject in the future. Thank you."

The magic system in Morrowind is way cooler, even if it looks like shit.

It made more sense in my head.

I ended up getting full Daedric in the first week of having the game. Then I got bored of it, and haven't played it since.

My giant warsword enchanted with the undead fleeing thingy does this quite fine.

The others... well I'm a battle mage. Mage wearing heavy armor, blasting everything with fire rune or lightning rune.

Though I was thinking of giving the Breton / Full Mage run a try, but the spell selecting in skyrim is crap and kind of ruins the mood when you're switching spells... needs a hotkey switch or a tier switch like Fable had.

Good points though, just keep in mind you also have to KILL things when you're in dungeons. ;P

Heavy armor
Smithing
Destruction
One handed
Enchantment

Battlemages are where it's at. Epic armor that ALSO has magical damage protection, plus all the perks that come along with it (matching sets, etc), PLUS more effective dual wielding? Yeah, pick up the perk for Total Badass while you're at it..

Skyrim makes the others look like shit as far as graphics are concerned; that's about it, though. Morrowind was the first Elder Scrolls game that I played and is definitely my favorite; I would say that it has the most enjoyable gameplay out of the three most recent ES games (I haven't played the first two yet). I kind of get the feeling that whatever ES game you play first will usually automatically be your favorite though, since they're all great games anyways.

The best destruction spells aren't actually that great in combat because anytime you get hit, it interrupts the stupid hand-waving you have to do before casting the spell. I always had a lot of fun with the other destruction spells though, especially shooting lightning from my hands as if I was the Emperor from Star Wars; that's actually one of my favorite things to do in Skyrim.

Yep, your right.

Create an on touch unlocking spell with 100 points, open everything in the game for little magic.
Create permanently conjured / bound weapons and armour.
Very OP magic.

As for the schools themselves, restoration is indeed a good spell, but even the greatest of restoration magic cannot cure the Corporus disease. Many have claimed Destruction is powerful, but it is far more useful to be skilled in the arts of Mysticism and Alteration to allow you to overcome any physical or mental boundary, added to that Conjuration of great weapons or minions to aid you and the Illusion school to make yourself unknown or beloved help to avoid any of your own blood from being shed.
