Skullpture after firing! It came out okay I guess but it's only my first sculpture. I enjoyed it a lot and I plan to do more.
I'm gonna grow flowers inside of it :)
It's not yet sanded nor glazed.

Hey man you show some really really great promise when it comes to art. A few tips i have picked up from some really impressive artists you should look into.

Try not to draw from textbooks or memory all the time. it is indeed important to practice your memory drawings as they improve imagination and add creativity to your work. But as an artist its important to capture a likeness where people can associate your work with real-life. It makes things less stressful on the eyes and easier to look at.

You seem to be getting good grasps on anatomy and i see promise when it comes to lights and darks and overall ambience and all these other complex things that play a role in good artwork. There are some pictures that lack some of the other, but that is expected.

When you practice drawing you should find real-life objects and control the light source so there is only one. Then study it immensely. This means drawing many many many pictures of that same object in many different angles. It's important to understand everywhere and anywhere light reflects and to truly capture the essence of the object. In these exercises your goal is to try your best to recreate as close of a likeness to the objectas you can.

Don't pick objects that are complex. Pick simple objects that hold basic shapes like oranges or cubes. Its the knowldge of how light reflects on these simple objects is how you apply it to more complex objects. As that is how you build from the ground up to make sure everything works together.

Just keep drawing. I like your work so far.

It's my first painting....it looks like shit. Bob Ross was a art god.

You show a lot of promise as others have said. With practice you could possibly get taken under a tattoo artist's wing and shown the ropes if that sounds like something that interests you. Some of your work comes off that way, so sorry if I misinterpret you.

Anyways here was my sketch for the sketchswap. I never got to coloring and finishing my final entry to I didn't enter it. I'll put up here though once I have a picture of it.

Conceptually this is my favorite. Inside all of us monsters exist beauty.

Skill wise this is your best work in the thread. Her eyes show innocence and I love her boyish haircut. Shows another side of her that isn't all glamour and Hollywood.

I could be her James Dean.

Pencil street art?
This didn't get a lot of attention in the art portal so I figured I'd post it here.

Is the bird trying to wake her for impending danger? Curious as to the meaning of this one.

Cheesy quote, but kick ass effect you've given the skeleton.

I'd like to see you try your hand at some more colorful pieces rather than black and white sketches. Keep it up though and post more, people lurk a lot, but don't let that deter you.

Also what is the origins of your usernname 372, it's eating me alive

Thanks! Misinterpret me? Haha I already started an apprenticeship at my friends families shop in the beginning of the summer.

Congratulations you're the first person who looked at this and didn't just say "wow dude looks super evil and creepy and boobs"
I really appreciate someone actually looking for the meaning in my work. I put a lot of thought into it but none really seems to notice

Thanks I put many hours into it. I give credit to the orginal picture for the look though.

Well the girl is dead and the bird is...eating her corpse. It supposed to represent how even the most harmless beautiful creatures must do "dark" things to survive.

Cheesy quote, but kick ass effect you've given the skeleton.

Thanks! I scanned a drawing into photoshop and used that to make the effect. Yeah you're not the first one to say so. I like the whole "the body is a wondrous machine" theme, but everyone else seems to think its corny haha.

I've been trying to experiment with colorful mediums. It's just that graphite is what I'm most experienced with so I tend to stick to it.
