And figured out that with shading and proper movement of the feet that walking cycles are pretty easy. I'm really happy with how this animation turned out :)

next time when you rotoscope try and use a different shading style. when it's copied like that it throws off the eyes

I was planning on using a different shading style next time I try, for this one I just did 2 - 3 layers of the burn tool in those certain parts, I think I'll use the actual paint colours for the shading next time unless there's an easier way that you guys use to shade?

Also do you or anyone else for that matter have tips on how I can get the eyes to stay as the one shape? Would it be smart to give them their own layer? and just have that layer play through all the frames?
you always want to put constants(non-shape changing elements) on their own layer.
also noticed you only put toenails on 2 or 3 of the frames. focus on consistency and you'll get a better product

I know, feet are my weakness though :( I can't seem to ever draw feet or shoes well on a character.

its a challenge because they are always shortened from perspective. practice makes perfect. i use a lot of 3D models with poser to get correct perspective on things like arms and feet. just find a good reference to practice with
Its a good attempt but I dont recommend depending on rotoscoping (tracing a animate image) too much because it can look like its changing shape too much and it doesnt really teach simple shape if your really new. I do like how rotoscoping provides fluidity though. To keep your shapes stable, try drawing simple block shapes on another layer because its a good guide to know where your objects are placed. I assume your using photoshop so it cant play to two layers at once. It is recommended to try an animation program (I use flash) so you can use many layer to test your animations easier. Here is my example of using simple shapes on one layer to keep my drawings consistent and a final line art drawing on another. My simple shapes are colored green while the final line art is black.

As Khan said, I would agree that rotoscoping does help to maybe help you understand how the walking cycles are drawn but I would try and avoid it in terms of actually animating using it as the shapes do change quite erratically,
