I unchecked the auto-recovery tick under preferences, but it did not stop the auto-save feature. Is there any way to disable it? This makes animating anything ludicrously more time consuming and frustrating.
Make a copy of the fla just in case. Then rename it from "file.fla" to "file.zip." All your stuff will be in there, but in different formats. Not entirely sure where to go from there, maybe re-zip and rename back to fla or something, or maybe there's something inside Flash Pro you can do

It's not really a preference like that, it's in the fla. You may want to just copy all your frames to a new fla.
