Partners will be announced soon so I think this is a good time to go over a few things before stuff really gets rolling.

===HOW PIECES WILL BE JUDGED===
Creativity will have the most sway in this contest. You will be judged mostly on the originality and creativity of your final piece. You sketch will also be taken into account, but more as bonus points. Of course technical skill will help, but its not crucial in this contest.
The best piece will most likely be knock your socks off creative with what it did with the sketch provided, have decent technical skill, and really use the appropriate style needed to get the point and purpose of the source sketch across. The artist will also have provided his partner with a super creative sketch to work with.
The best pair will be the guys who both had really original ideas for their sketches, got everything in on time, had nice final pieces and just really flowed together and didn't seem like they were fighting each other or trying to coddle or beat up each other. Gave each other a nice solid challenge without out being douche-waffles.

You don't need to necessarily do a straight up copy of your partners sketch. You can choose to make a final piece that looks pretty much like a cleaned up pretty version of the sketch, or something that just uses key elements and ideas of the sketch while changing the composition completely.

===THINGS YOU SHOULD DO===
1. Finish your sketch in time, dont shaft your partner, its a dick thing to do.
2. Final pieces should have the reference sketch (your partner's) visible somewhere in the piece (see the two starter pics in the finals thread for examples.)
3. Be creative, we cant stress this enough.

===THINGS THAT YOU SHOULDNT DO===
1.Any fan art of any sort will pretty much guarantee a loss, and possible disqualification.
"But what if my partner gives me a sketch with fan art?"
if your partner is pathetic enough to give you mlp or madness or something in the sketch, then just use the figure as just that, a figure. MLP can just symbolize "horse" and hank from madness can be turned around to be "some sort of human figure" DONT fall into the stupid trap of fan art just because your partner was a twat.
2. Again failing to check in in time will result in disqualification.
3. Dont post your sketch where the public can see it, wait for it to get seen in the final piece that your partner submits.
4. Leaving out major crucial elements of your partners sketch in the final piece. The final should be recognizable as being somewhat based on the sketch provided.

I will send out a reminder tomorrow night though to those who havent sent in anything, but ultimately its up to their partners to motivate them.
