Funniest anime ever?

Lately I've been on the hunt for fantastic comedy anime. All too often, anime comedies lose their jokes in translation. However, those greatly overshadow the amount of genuinely funny anime that's out there.

So I ask you: What's the funniest anime you've seen, Newgrounds?

I've seen some pretty funny anime in my days (Hetalia, Excel Saga, heck, even Ouran High School Host Club had a couple hilarious moments) but I'd say the funniest anime I've seen is the obscure gem Desert Punk.

Yes, the line delivery of the show really is as great as those few seconds. It's one of the few anime that MUST be watched in English.

I don't watch much comedy anime. I'm usually annoyed enough by the "comic relief" in non-comedic anime.

Desert Punk was decent for the most part, but all the humor about the main character being a creep on the brink of committing rape didn't work for what they were going for. And all the boob jokes got annoying.

I realize that I don't think I've ever watched a single anime comedy in my entire life! Every single anime on TV is action in some way! I was surprised to find out that there actually are a fair number of comedy anime out there. The closest I've gotten to watching one is reading the "Azumanga Daioh" manga or whatever it is. That is very funny and I suspect watching the show as well.

Nichijou was pretty damn absurd, which made me laugh a lot.
Chuunibyou....something or other, it was a long title for my American tongue to remember all of, but when it was weird it was funny. I wouldn't watch it again, but others might appreciate it. And it was recent, too.
K-On can be funny, though it's definitely very moe, and really it's a show where they (the girls in the band) barely do anything in the first season and do even less in the second.
I hear Azumanga Daioh was funny, though I'll have to give it a look first.

The biggest common factor these all have are the girl leads, and also (depending on definition) too moe for some. Be advised.

If you like bizarro shock humor, that's a good one. It can be hard to follow due to all the craziness though.

I remember the time I tried to explain that anime to a stoner at my school. Lulz were had.
