On the topic of Pico Day I'm all for the newer stuff. But then again it's entirely up to you what you want to do. If you decide to keep it Pico Day and whatnot thats fine with me. If you want to change it more power to ya.

As for Pico Day, I feel like you can do whatever you want with it and I'll still be happy. I'm hoping something happens though. I always enjoy these NG holidays.

I'm wrapping up an older thing for Pico Day, but the release date isn't too important. I say we keep Pico Day. New Day sounds a little bit..."meh" to me. After all, doesn't NG encourage EVERYDAY to be experimental, pushing the boundaries, innovating? I just don't see a day dedicated to that yielding too much.

Oh man, forgot about 2011 winners. Did you finally finish giving away those tank trophies? They're pretty kickass.

Tom, don't give up on a Pico Day party - Tradition can be annoying but it's not like we expect you to give a speech - just throw a shin dig, isn't that what the whole first floor is for? I wish you guys had more events at the office. Work can be put on hold for a day if need be. Sometimes it's nice to have a day to unwind other than a weekend or holiday, you know? It can't hurt to visit with your fans.

I'm looking forward to NG in 2013. You guys work so hard and create one of the best places for some of the best artists on the web to produce and mingle and show off their craft!

I kinda like the idea of keeping it Pico Day, but making the yearly theme "experimental". You kinda do a theme each year so that would fit. I can see the loader now, Pico as a mad scientist with a fla file hooked up to a tesla coil.

Anyway, don't be in such a hurry to make new things all the time. You're always redesigning and pushing things forward, but that doesn't leave any time to enjoy what you have already.

Agreed. Pico is one of the "faces" of Newgrounds, and tradition is only part of what keeps NG going. The other is innovation, of course, but that happens every single day -- we've only got to look between the walls and cracks and corners for breakthroughs in music and art (animation and games go detected by almost everyone). I mean, heck, that's what has given NG its prestige in the first place!

To be perfectly honest, Tom, I have a strong gut feeling that if we were to take that tradition away, we won't really be distinguishable from any other site anymore in terms of programmes lined up for users. Pico Day, Clock Day... I mean traditions keep us together, like some sort of fraternity -- we're "close-knit" in that sense. Everyone over here identifies with them in some way, shape or form, and to varying extents. If we take these away, there's not much to know and love anymore, is there?

Like I said, look between the walls and cracks and corners, not look at the bloody front page or first set of results. And besides, I don't do M or A-rated stuff either, and even then there are some astounding works. (And the more astounding of them are in my favourites.)

Wow, all this talk about whether Pico Day should be changed, or gotten rid of, or whatever, really make the submission I'm working on for Pico Day more relevant than I had thought.
Don't let the flame die out Tom! Keep Pico Day going, tradition is everything, and I'm sure this years Pico Day will be great no matter what.
