Not Sandy oak, the Taft Union high school, only one was critically wounded, which is bad. A teacher was able to stop the shooter, but that is ridiculous. Sandy oak just happened a few weeks ago, they really need to lay down the law!

Plus, how the hell did a kid get hold of a gun?! Guns should just be banned, no access to them, except police, and that's on the odd occasion that they should use them.

You really lack that much self control? I was heavily bullied at school but I refused to act on any such thoughts, very sad.

Because can all assume you are the perfect example of what a normal person would do in such circumstances.

maybe not so much as to kill other people, but it wouldn't be an alien thing for a human to be violent towards another human when that human as annoyed him in tormented in such ways.

Wanting to kill another person is not a normal thing. Revenge used to be before humans learnt to cope with such useless motives. Bullying is bad and it makes you feel like shit, that much is true, needing to get some revenge? How is that true? You have likely heard of bullies who used to be bullied themselves, and abusive parents who used to be abused as a child themselves. Such things do come from such upsetting pasts yes but that doesn't make them at all acceptable. Most humans have learnt to deal with problems so what makes these people so special who believe they can inflict violence on others? Total ignorance.

You asshole, it's not that simple. My house is FULL of guns. My walls are fucking covered by guns. Guns are a part of my life. I can't and I won't get rid of them. You one-sided closed-minded fools are ignoring the real problem. It's not that guns are bad, it's that PEOPLE are bad!

I really hope you are just ignorant or a troll.

That is not how you "fix" the problem. Do you really think banning all guns from every household will fix the problem? No. People that still want guns will find a way to get them, it will just create many many more problems than it will solve.

A normal person can have 40 guns and be perfectly fine, use them for hunting, target shooting and all sorts of things.

One random asshole gets a hold of someones gun or buys one in the same manner everyone would (if they were banned or not) and shoots or attempts to shoot people, all of a sudden we need to ban guns?

No. We don't need stricter gun control or more banned guns, we need to stop fucking blaming the guns and blame the fucking idiots that do dumb shit. No one EVER wants the person who did something horrific to be the bad guy or it be his own fault.

No, it's the guns fault for being there.

No, it's society's fault for allowing people to own guns.

No, it's the governments fault for not having strict enough gun control laws.

No, it's violent video games fault for corrupting children.

No one ever fucking says "Ya know what it was a unstable asshole, 1 person who got hold of a gun and tried to shoot people." It sucks, I feel bad for those who are involved but it's not any other persons fault. Fucking get over it.

Access to guns is only the miner part of the problem. It's media coverage. With (shooting at this school) stapled everywhere more and more people are getting the idea to, guess what, have a school shooting!

This argument of the media glorifies violence is such bs. What is supposed to happen? You really expect the media to be all sunshine, rainbows, and lollipops all the time? Bad shit happens, get over it. Don't go on a school rampage. That's it.

But it's not you fuckwit. The more attention the media gives it the more it glorifies the shooter. It makes him a anti-hero of sorts. Do you even hear yourself?

The media can give it some coverage but it's not the right coverage, it never is. They do whatever it takes to get ratings and they give the wrong message. It's not complete bullshit and you know it. It doesn't have to be sunshine and rainbows but they need to keep their shit straight. Don't fucking distract the parents and forcibly interview a 8 year old that just saw his classmates get killed.

it's the shit like that.

I disagree that any legitimate reporting of incidents like this do what you are saying. First, nothing is glorified. The reporters put on their sad faces and everyone says what a tragedy this situation is. To glorify or make an anti-hero of the shooter would suggest that the media is insisting that something good comes from school shootings. I don't know what news station you are watching if you think they paint shooters as glorious figures.

Of course if someone watching the news thinks, "hey, I want some attention, let me go shoot up the local mall." Well they're just as crazy and that's not the media's fault. Most people who own guns are responsible and never kill anyone, just like most people who watch the news think, "What a tragedy" rather than "hey shooting people is a good way to get attention."

Besides, your last post blasted anyone who tried to blame anything other than the mental state of the shooter, and now you call me a fuckwit for not blaming the media. Very nice.

We seriously need to regulate this shit better.

Heck, I could probably smuggle a gun into my school without a problem. (which I won't do because I'm a good boi :3 )

Schools are already gun-free zones. It's already illegal for minors to have it. It's already illegal to shoot someone.

So, how will more laws help?

An inanimate object cannot be "at fault"

Gonna blame 9/11 on the plane? Or the buildings?

Oh god not all this again. I'll give Americans there right to firearms if you give the rest of the world the right to think you're all idiots.

Question - What came first, you're opinion on guns, or the evidence you have for your opinion?

The media does have it's part to play in these seemingly additional chain shootings. The media is not -at fault- for the shooting, or causing other shooting directly per sae. But the 24/7 coverage, disgraceful tactics to get "interviews" or "statements" from those directly involved is a part of the problem. It's just aggravating to hear the same things over and over.

At the end of the day it's the shooters fault the incident(s) happen. The media gives it way more attention than it needs. Then as if by chance a string series of shootings happen on a close to/lesser scale. First it was sandy hook, this marks what, the 3rd school shooting in the last 2-3 months?

EXACTLY.

People, especially big government/anti-gun types, have a tendency to blame everyone other than whose fault it actually is...

Got to fat? McDonald's fault
Kid gets shot? NRA/guns fault
Guy rapes a girl? Societies/upbringing's fault
Kids go on a shooting spree? Marilyn Manson's fault

Fact is, no one is to blame in the above situations, as well as this one, other than the people involved. It was not the gun's fault. It was the fault of a child and an irresponsible parent.

A fat child is not a cheeseburger's fault. It's an irresponsible parent's fault.

A kid goes nuts in a violent rampage...that isn't a movie or video game's fault. It is the fault of a fucked up kid, probably due to environment.

Guns are not the problem. Irresponsible parents, culture (that is media...which can be link to irresponsible parents) and mis-education about guns, are to blame.

Sorry folks, it is not Call of Duty's fault that junior decided to shoot people. It's the fault of his shitty parents for letting their kids play it in the first place. People want to blame it on guns, because then they don't have to face how shitty of parents they, and society as a whole, are.

The evidence of course.

Question- why do you want to ban guns, but not airplanes or fast cars? What possible reason do you have to ban guns? What makes guns more dangerous, or potentially more dangerous?

There is ZERO logical reason to ban guns, and keep other, more dangerous things, legal.

More people are killed in road accidents than shootings. And there are fatal, or near fatal plane crashes EVERY SINGLE DAY. Why are these okay, but a gun is not?

Oh, oh, I know! Let's ban electricity. Lot's of people die from that too.

Actually, being on an airplane is one of the safest places you can be in the world probably.

There is ZERO logical reason to ban guns, and keep other, more dangerous things, legal.

This argument is never going to work. The fact that something other than guns is more dangerous and legal is completely irrelevant. By using this argument you're just admitting that guns are dangerous.
