Nah I get that its just, that's like 1 cent, out of 59 cents.

for your 17 ad impressions, you're actually doing really well, considering it is possible to get 1000 impressions and only make 10 cents or even 1 cent for every 1000.

No you haven't. The 59 cents (just over half a dollar) is your eCpm - what you might have earned had you got 1,000 views. You have 17. The dollar value will fluctuate depending on how well the ad campaigns are doing on your page(s)/submission(s).
