What animal would you be and why?

So I'm filling out a job application for a pet shop and one of the questions on the form is;

"If you were to describe yourself as a pet what would you be and why?"

Naturally I chose to blag it and came up with some nonsense about being like a hamster, which I will copy and paste if anyone is intrigued. But its a lie really (shh).

I know I'm a cat. I love sleeping for long periods at a time and prefer to come and go as I please, and give attention really on my terms. I love to play with toys and I will snap at you if I don't like what you're doing.

So yeah, I guess be truthful and say what animal you would be and why?

"Probably a hamster. I have the ability to move faster then my structure would probably suggest to other people! Different types of hamsters have different needs when it comes to company. Some need to be kept on their own and others need other hamsters around them. I think this speaks for me a bit as I am content to work on my own, and get on with it when I am required to but also do work well with others when that is expected of me, and like a hamster I am quick to learn when given new challenges. Inquisitive but I won't go all 'gung-ho' until I understand what is ahead of me and how to approach it the best way.

The Red-Tailed Hawk. They've a widespread habitat, are extremely common and protected by laws, mingle very well with humans, and are all-around badass. They're pretty large as far as birds of prey go, but agile. But all those practical reasons trump the main motivation: flying. And hawks don't fly like boring birds do, they soar and dive. Way cooler.

Seeing as it says pet, some answers would have to go out the window. If that answer was in any of my application forms, I'd put down budgie but that's mostly because I have two at home and enjoy them a lot in my life.

Being a cat would be nice, but despite all of the luxuries, at the end of the day you're still at the mercy of your owner. If I could be any animal, I'd choose to be a bear. Bears get to do pretty much whatever they want. They eat whatever they want, they go wherever they want, they sleep three months out of the year, and anyone that pisses them off is promptly ripped in half. Now that's the kind of life I wouldn't mind having.
