I've met many people that react favorably to it, and it's great fun. It should be handled with the same legal bias as law enforcement handles alcohol...if they're too stoned to do a field sobriety test, maybe they shouldn't be on the road.

Except its illegality limits the success it could have in medicating people.

It's sadistic that sick people should have to risk arrest for smoking something that could really help them out- I mean a person in hospital on a drip is not considered to be illegally using a supply of heroin, which is what morphine basically is.

At any rate, all the arguments thus far in this thread have given vague opinions on what marijuana might do, without any evidence behind them. I'd say weed has enough benefits to make it illegal in a world where one can buy cigarettes, which are the most dangerous drug to use in terms of death rates in users, and maybe they ought to be banned.

Without a doubt yes. Though, I live in Alabama so it has a snowballs chance in hell to be legalized. We can't even have a lottery in this fucked up state.

A strong subject amoungst non-voters mainly. I'm against it, the ties to mental illness are very strong. Most people I know who toked went mad and killed themselves eventually. I know a couple who quit and I only know one guy who still does it.

He is mentally ill, but he is clinically depressed, which isn't any connection to weed at al, just an interesting side note.

Nope. Just like everyone who enjoys beer is not an alcoholic, not everyone who enjoys weed is unproductive. Is a pastime like anything else. Sure, you could be doing something else with that small time frame you've devoted to weed but what would that be? More Internet? A wank? As for brain cells it's such a tiny, tiny amount it doesn't even matter. If you don't want to lose them then don't, neither do I. I've vaped and didn't care but what's stupid is telling people what not to do when it harms no one.
