4.02 / 5.00 41,854 ViewsHoly. Motherfucking. Horse-testicles. This is one of the best movies I've ever seen. If you haven't seen it yet, don't read this review. Just take my word that it was the best movie of 2012 and get out there and see that shit (But come back to this thread afterwards, so you can say you agree with me.) I'm not even joking. This is taking the No. 2 on my top ten of films, right between Forrest Gump--at three--and Shawshank Redemption--at number one.
This is a movie is spectacular. The parts meant to be funny are funny, the parts meant to be sad are sad, the parts meant to be scary are scary (and how) and the parts supposed to make your spirit soar high above the clouds as you watch a gloriously epic battle do. . . Well, just that. This is Quentin Tarantino's magnum opus, forget Pulp Fiction and all that other stuff.
Let me put it this way. Movie directors and writers will fuss about cliches, offending people, having their film be "artistic" and "thought provoking." For this, Quentin Tarantino throws all that out the window and focuses solely on packing as much awesome into a two hour, forty-five minute time span as he possibly can. And boy, does he ever fit a lot in there.
My favorite part was when Django whips the shit out of Lil' Roge. He stops them from whipping a slave, kills the first brother and than proceeds to fucking own the second. All to the most kickass, epic music I've ever heard in a movie. And that's another big plus too! The music. The rap songs that were in there I wasn't too fond of, but overlooking them was as easy as watching Django kill a bunch of dick-ass slavers. No, the high point of the music in this film is the parts with the western style trumpet playing. It compliments the movie so well and makes parts already more epic than supernovae ten times as epic.
The characters you're supposed to like you love, the villains you're supposed to love to hate you hate with every fiber and yet respect at the same time; everything is right where it fucking should be. This movie is perfect. And that's not opinion either, that's objective, motherfucking FACT. 12/10, 120%, 6 stars out of five, see this goddamn movie.
'Nuff said.

I agree it was fucking awesome. Best movie I've seen all year... even though its the first movie I've seen all year. But ya, my favourite part was when Django deceives the mine slavers and as one of them hands him his gun, he quickly shoots the two in front of him and then shoots the guy carrying all the TnT. Oh man that was perfect, I came a little when I saw that in theatres last night. So did my friend beside me. We're both straight males, but the cum was perfectly acceptable...
much like the wealthy, affable antagonist, this film has a deep appreciation for violence
every shot that hits some one is followed by lovely spurts of blood,
every time some one died, it meant something, due to tarantino's unparalleled characterization capabilities
in the movie, characters mention that django is one in ten thousand, and so is this movie
tarantino is irreplaceable

Okay, okay. We get it. Even if you're being sarcastic, please calm down.

They filmed some of it near me and I got to watch (from a distance). I am a huge Tarantino fan so I've been trying to find other Tarantino fans to see how this movie holds up to his others and you are not the first person to say this one blew Pulp Fiction out of the water.
I hate going to the theater so much. Not the atmosphere, it's just where I live our one theater is in a terribly dangerous part of town. But I may go see a daytime showing.

Thank you for actually providing some insight instead of just gobbling up the violence and clapping! Everyone else has simply vomited back up the hype that was shovelled down their throats.
I just watched my first Tarintino "film" Inglorious Basterds and hated it.

The less you like something mainstream the cooler you are.
i'm not a fan of tarantino. how can you be a fan of a director who has only made one movie, anyway? it is a mystery

Why do you interpret my comment as an attempt to be cool but not everybody else's? Is it because my comment was cool?
The movie is spectacular, no doubt, but the ending was far too dragged. Wicked bad acting done by the "Australians", one of which was the big Q himself (God he got fat). Otherwise, I'm really sad and actually angry the main character died when he had plenty of time to defend himself.

Django didn't die.

jimmy kimmel live! doesn't count as a movie, neither does 15 csi: crime scene investigation episodes... what's left? one actual movie. i guess it's just bile from fans of a tv show director who desperately wants to do movies

Sir German the Awesome was pretty epic, although I didn't mind his death so much. Your use of the word "the," as in singular, implies you were talking about the main character, Django.
Also, you know superghandi is a troll right?

Nice try, though.

that tarantino can sell the same gory murderporn movie over and over again just by changing the title doesn't mean he has directed more than one. what it does mean is that he has really stupid fans who will pay to see the same movie over and over again and he knows it. you got my nick wrong, by the way... it's supergandhi64

But anyway, that's your opinion, i don't want to argue, so, feel free to share it with the world.

I strongly disagree. The gore is just one small part of the whole concoction. The plot and characters of his World War 2 movie are nothing like what's in his martial arts tribute movie, or the mobsters/criminals movie.
Yeah there are similarities in his style of homage and story-telling, but I wouldn't go so far as to call them all the same movie.
