Favorite Tarantino Film? Jan. 5th, 2013 @ 07:40 AM Reply

Just saw Django Unchained for the third time earlier because it was that good.

I am a big fan of most Tarantino movies and this one was no different. Then I got to think about which of his films was my favorite since I have seen nearly all of them. I honestly can't decide between Inglorious Basterds and Django Unchained.

What about you guys?

I've only seen Reservoir Dogs and Pulp FIction I still gotta watch Django Unchained and Inglorious Basterds.

Out of the two I say Pulp Fiction probably cause of its bigger budget (meaning more actors and more better quality) and Samuel L. Jackson

Oh yeah and Kill Bill is another movie I should watch. How many Kill Bill movies are there?

It's Pulp Fiction for me. Although, Reservoir Dogs isn't too far from it.

Technically it's one film but it's split into two volumes.

My favorite Tarantino film is Reservoir Dogs, closely followed by Pulp Fiction. I also really love True Romance, not exactly one of his but he was involved on it.

I've not seen Django yet (not out in the UK for another couple of weeks), but I have seen all of his other films (and loved them). For me Reservoir Dogs is my favourite because of its simplicity. It never ceases to amaze me how a film with so little action and essentially set in one room can be so endlessly entertaining and rewatchable.

And there are two Kill Bill films

Reservoir Dogs.

Tarantino is one of those directors who works best when he's forced to work with limited resources. His recent work, where he's got total freedom, is far too self indulgent.

I mean, I respect him for making films for himself and not for anyone else, but it doesn't result in anything nearly as tight as his early work.

Scary Movie 4 was my favorite Tarantino film. I liked the back & forth between Chris Rock & Mos Def where Mos Def settles the argument by saying "unless you a walker". Shit was jokes

of curiosity, what makes death proof your favorite over his other films?

i remember watching it and being genuinely entertained for the most part, it had great dialogue and the camera work was amazing but it was so simplistic that it didn't feel like a real film. it's very clear that tarantino made the film for himself, it's a fetish movie i guess. i don't get it

also my favorite is reservoir dogs

I only saw "Djando Unchained" and "Inglorious Basterds". I'm going to say that I liked the former more. Most people would say his best movie is "Pulp Fiction" (which is also considered one of the best films ever made!), so I'll have to check that out.

I'm kinda surprised not to hear anybody mention Jackie Brown. That was definitely in a tie for kill bill for my second favorite, but my favorite is pulp fiction.
I haven't seen reservoir dogs or Django so I can't make too much of an opinion.

Pulp Fiction.

I actually hate Inglorious Basterds. I can't get over the glaring historical inaccuracies.

I'd have to say Reservoir Dogs is my favorite. I can't explain why, I think I just enjoy the plot as a whole more.

Kill Bill Volume One is probably my favorite, though I'm also a huge Pulp Fiction fan.

Well directing wise I'd say either Pulp Fiction or Kill Bill (1 & 2)

Writing wise I liked Natural Born Killers.

he wrote the screenplay but it was heavily revised. Still somewhat involved with it though.

I was mildly okay with Inglourious Basterds but I didn't think it was all that great....

It wasn't meant to be historically accurate though. These movies all take place in an alternate timeline than our own.

Jackie Brown & Reservoir Dogs.

I really want to see Django Unchained, it's something I've been interested in watching since it was announced, I'm just too broke to hit up the theatre right now, I really want to see that damn movie though!

Oh, I know. It's not what I want out of a WWII movie though. I mean, come on, Hitler getting assassinated in France? I think it's cool that Tarantino did his own take on a WWII movie but it just didn't work for me.

I loved Django unchained, but I'd be kind of annoyed if he had single-handedly stopped the Civil War or something.

My pops works as a private caterer in the film industry. He worked with Quentin on Django and some previous film which I forgot about. I got a shed load of cool shit after my pops worked on Django. I'll post some of it for you guys :3 It's not worth much now that the film's out, but it's still pretty fucking neat.
