So why do people bash other people for music preference again?
Humans are strange that way. Every single individual has a personal preference. I like chocolate and you do not for example. Since I like it...and I am me, I would be more liniment to go with thinking my option is better than yours. This coupled with peer pressure ( I.E Being surrounded by people who like dubstep/DnB/POP while you yourself listen to some Bethoven ) Will end up with an interesting and obvious outcome.
ya man classics 4 lyf!!!
they just dont make music lyk they used 2 u kno

there are tons of band besides Pink that people will bash other people on and call elitists for liking. or something like that
Oh, btw. You can not dis-like an entire genre. It's not possible. We all have our certain tastes but saying you dislike electronic or 70's era music is ridiculous unless you force yourself not to. Since listening to lots of chill music I can listen to anything and enjoy it if I want to. Uninformed people run the World.
It is usually little shits who dislike old music because it sounds too different from they're used to.
At least with most people this goes away with age.

I'm assuming you're talking about the 'bad' section of humanity.
Such people like to think that 'old' music makes you (the listener) old like those people in their 70s, thus making you 'old-school' and 'out-of-date'. People who think like this need to be re-educated, or their IQ is just too low to understand 'appreciation of music'.
I have friends who tolerate all kinds of music, but there are people (such as those in my class) who'd insult a person for listening to 'old' music. They just think 'new' music makes them superior, and more 'fit in society'. Of course they want to be 'new' since 'new' makes them 'young and cool'. Sometimes they'd criticise your taste because they never heard said genre of music before, thus calling your genre preference weird (of course, they can't appreciate).
I appreciate both 'old' and 'new' music, whether its an Orchestral or a D&B song. The age of its existence doesn't matter at all.

People dislike Pink Floyd?

Can you explain what you mean by "old music", because when I read that I immediately thought of Pierre Schafer, Luigi Russolo, Shostakovich, etc.
Pink Floyd and other dadrock is not exactly "old".
People not liking the same music I do is totally un-fucking-american!
I listen to any music that is enjoyable to me. If I hear it and like it, I won't care when it was created because it works for me. There is no sort of intelligence test with music. You can listen to the most braindead pre fabricated bullshit and still be intelligent.
Yeah i sure as hell don't hold people over for their taste in music.

Not really the music that they listen to just becomes old as they get older.
Really? From what I hear, its the other way around. At least on this site.

Usually it's classic rock fans that get on my nerves. They are just as close minded as today's listeners, yet pretend they aren't.

I'm sick of kids who brag about how they listen to "old music" and go on about how they're so unique and different to other kids in their age group.

What about people who listen to 70's music, but don't brag about it because they honestly don't like pop that much aside from Micheal Jackson and maybe Daft Punk?
and not just pop, why'd I even say that lol, I love pop.
I like most music, I just prefer 70's stuff to what is mostly made now.
