December Nac '12 Results!

WOW! This combined with the MAC made for some truly stellar pieces! Evil-dog gave like 5 10s out of 8 submissions.. and I.. didn't give any hehe.. the benefit of having separate judges.. different judging styles..

this marks 2 full years of CONSISTANT NACs - 24 NACs in total.. it's been fun.. but as a regular user I can no longer shoulder the weight of these contests on my own anymore. These contests are a very big burden and have taken their toll on me, and most regular users just are not reliable enough to assist on a consistant basis. The goal of these contests were to bring the community back together and I think they succeeded very well in doing so in the end.

Unless things change however this will be the last NAC. I am sorry to disappoint you all but it's like a janitor that faithfully does an unappreciated job and never gets a raise.. eventually he just quits. These contests are all volunteer anyways but now you have the MACs so if newgrounds wants a second contest run they can either help me out a bit or get another mod or staff member to do it themselves. I have a life and may start up a family in the next few years so yeah..

ANYWAYS though it's time to announce the winners! Thanks to everyone who helped make these contests what they are.. tom for supporting it and all my judges for helping me out over the years, especially you Evil-Dog!

Congratulations to all the winners, especially bassfiddlejones for yet another first place! And thanks to Chron for organising these contests for two years straight.

Hey, if it's OK with everyone, is it possible for the store credit prize to be split? 2nd place is $40 so can $20 go to me and $20 go to Federica? I know it says in the rules "The prize however will only go to the user that submitted the song." but considering that you can credit collaborators now, that rule is a bit outdated. But I dunno; just seems a bit unfair that I get it all when I only did part of the work.

dunno about the prevelance of the MACs but until further notice NACs are over. There will be no more monthly contests. Not from me anyways.

Wow! So cool. :D

It was great to see the variety... in a contest where one might expect mostly orchestral and cheesy christmas pops, there are some REALLY F'ING CREATIVE works in this in all sorts of genres! I really enjoyed the teamwork between vocalists and composers... it's a really cool thing to see.

I'm real sad you're giving up the NACs man, they've been an awful ton of fun over the years when I have had a chance to enter! I really hope someone picks up in your stead at least.
