This is really the only computer I use. It's a laptop from 2010 with a broken screen and is connected to a monitor from 2007. This thing runs like shit. The only thing it's good for is emulating old games and playing PC games from 2002 and before. It can play some of the games newer than that, but the graphics has to be set low. There is another computer that I have access to, but I never use it. It is a shared computer. That computer runs games a lot better than the one I use, but it isn't gaming quality.

How can you live like that
Alright, let's see...
6 GB of RAM
AMD A6-3600 2.10 GHz

ASUS G75VW
Intel i7-3610 QM @ 2.5-3.2 ghz
8 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1600 mhz
Geforce GTX660m OC'd @ 1080mhz core clock (+135, +316 on mem)
windows 7 64bit OS

In my defense, it actually looks good for that resolution.

Acer Aspire 5750Z
Intel Pentium B940 Processor (2.0GHz, 2MB L3 cache)
Intel HD Graphics
15.6 HD LED LCD
4 GB DDR3 Memory
500 GB HDD
DVD-Super MULTI DL drive
6-cell Li-ion battery
HD webcam
Yup. Not sure if this means the laptop is good or bad. Idk. It's the family laptop.
I bought my PC when there was this "triple-channel" gimmick.
Asus P6X58D-E
Corsair HX750
Noctua NH-D14
Windows 7
8GB RAM
AMD graphics card. Not sure which one but it has a 6 on it. Its good enough to play L4D2 on max settings, and thats all that matters I suppose.
As far as gaming goes these are the only thing I know have an effect on games and how they run.
pretty much a bread and butter, avererage rig
intel core 2 duo E4700 @ 2GHz
HD 4000 graphics.
4 GB DDR2, however can only acess 3.31 because of 32-bit.
I purchased this in mid-2012 with the plan of using it for all purposes for at least 4 years:

1360 x 765 on 32 inches? Surely you can output something better than that, right?
It's depressing to read laptops specs that are better than those of my current desktop computer. I'm running Linux Mint 13 on a system with these specs:
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.53GHz CPU
2GB DDR2 RAM
G31 Express Integrated Graphics
Perfectly fine for standard computer use but awful for anything more than that. Gaming is a no on this computer as you'd probably expect with the lack of dedicated graphics card. It is a low end Dell that we got a good few years ago now, so you wouldn't really expect it to be much by today's standards.
Hopefully in a few weeks time I'll be able to come back to this thread and post some specs that compete with some of you guys computers. I have plans to build a gaming desktop after my birthday.

I use a 32in monitor at 1080p and it drives me crazy. Certain things like the | character can become completely invisible if it's in the wrong place on my monitor. My next monitor will be either 27in or 1600p.

ATI Radeon HD 5570 (total memory = 2805 MB)
4 GB RAM
DirectX 11
AMD Phenom II X4 925 Processor
Windows 7 64-bit
