In this day and age, as a NEW "label", what can you offer us that we can't get for ourselves in the first place?

I'm gonna second this notion. It's not hard for a musician to distribute and advertise his music, maybe even for free. What could your small label do other than limit us?

Can you feel it mister Krabs?

Going with broken deck, for 25 bucks I could get any music I wanted on itunes with the distributor only taking 9%.

Unless you can get it on there for less than 9% cut, after itunes takes 30%, or sale a dramatically larger amount of music than I can on my own. Really the percent isn't very important, it's do I make more or less money signed. But I also wouldn't allow a distributor to take over 50%, unless I was making millions, or at least enough to make a living even after the distributor takes their cut.

No thanks, I'll stick to social media and bandcamp if I want to get stuff out there.

I'm interested. Could you give me some more information, though? What sort of musician are you after? What quality should my work be to get me signed?
