I am really looking forward to this movie coming out in 2013. It looks bad-ass and everyone likes monster/giant robot movies, right?

Anyway, on one hand the trailer looks like a sort of more mature Power Rangers film directed by Michael Bay or something. At least, it definitely seems inspired by these animes and kiddie TV shows where people fight monsters in giant mech suits (e.g. Neon Genesis Evangelion, Power Rangers).

On the other hand, it is directed by Guillermo del Toro which tempts me to go check it out because his films are usually pretty good.

I think I'll watch it if I have time.

Like I was saying earlier, Glados is probably only in the trailer, to generate hype among people who would otherwise have no incentive to see the film. The actual movie will likely have an entirely different computer voice or no computer voice at all, and as such those who see it on opening weekend will be very madbro.

People who only want to see a movie for a famous voice are kind of stupid to begin with. "Ooh, a minor part of the trailer has something I recognize! Better shell out my money, this is gonna be worth it!"

You seem so certain. Have there been any other trailers that had a recognizable actor or actress featured, and then they weren't at ALL in the movie, deleted scene or otherwise? I'd like to see some examples.

Looks alright, might watch it. Don't really think much of the plot but films like this don't really need a great plot, it's just fun to watch giant robots fighting and exploding - funny though since this is the reason why everyone hates the Transformers films.
