Hey guys,

I've been kicking around here for long enough to call myself a regular (I think), I figure you'll let me make another of these... plus it's a free album too, and mostly comprised of . :D

It's really been a great pleasure being around Newgrounds from my very first days as a composer and being able to recognize the need for good, free, listening music. I decided to cut the 'need to make money' crap (we all know that rarely works anyway, unless you're famous or write modern music) and offer this new album free of charge- 22 works from the past half-year in one place.

Enjoy, and keep compos(ed/ing), mi amigos!

Did BrokenDeck approve this?

Otherwise, cool.

I'm not sure why BD would have any say whether or not someone could post an album thread.

I didn't approve this... but I consider samulis a reg, and his music is pretty awesome, so... I'm approving it right now.

I'll give the album a listen a little later when I'm not starving to death.

Thanks BFP and Dem0le! And yeah, I think the say belongs more to the BBS mods.

So you're saying that if me and my friend have an awesome album we can post it... -____- pretty sure my friends have had some locked threads trying to post albums and not everyone likes this kind of music.

Don't mess around.

First you are not a reg, read the damn guideline. You are here like what, less than a year, and you have only 33 posts. None of us here knows your face. Second, I was joking about the approval stuff.

I DID NOT see that line previously.

This is the fucking Audio forum, we welcome any type of music. Samulis is a reg. And he can post the Classical album because he want to, and people, listen to it. So it should be shitstep that only allow to post?

I'm sorry for turning your thread into a mess, but I don't let you get offended by this little cunt.

m0le, don't ruin the party man...

Kid, check this thread out (it's linked in the audio forum rules). It explains the album thread guidelines. When in doubt if you can post an album thread, mail one of the BBS mods.

Now, I've already made one album thread on here a while back, so I know it's okay, plus I even asked one of the mods then.

Your thread MAY be locked if...

-you only post in the audio forum like once every three months.
-only post spam linking to your stuff.
-aren't known to the mod (so seriously consider joining the Skype Chat or at least the lounge thread a bit before posting one).
-you just link to the album and don't write anything about it.
-put little effort into the audio or album in general.

If you aren't sure and can't contact a mod, post in that thread, as the OP recommends.

Everywhere "the reg" Samulis goes.. drama always follows him. You have my permission to spam the audio forum with albums and photos of your combed-over hair.

Congrats on the album. I could tell it's great without having regrets later, even though I haven't listened to it yet. I'm starting to get to know your music, and I know what you've done before is very good so this must be too. I'll definitely listen to it soon, and let you know what I think. Looking forward to it.

Haven't heard it all yet but what I've heard so far has very strong composition and magnificent string entrances.

Keep it up.

Hahaha! Thanks, Bosa. :P

Sorohanro, thanks for the congrats man. SourJarvis and Step, hope you guys like it! Hope I didn't let your high expectations down! (and for some reason, my mind is finding it entertaining that all four of us have usernames that start with 's')

If you guys have any 'favorite track' or tracks you'd like to point out, I'd be glad to know... I want to know what sounds best to folks' ears.

I start my usernames with only the highest quality alphabet letters.

Hard to say. I think my favourite would have to be El Cid, but Winter Hunt and Byzantium both have great composition still. Gloria's pretty darn awesome too. What brass instruments exactly did you use at the beginning of Gloria? Because I've always wanted to achieve that kind of regal feeling.

The album in general leaves room from improvement mixing-wise; especially when you start throwing in lots of instruments, the mix tends to get too full and unclean, but honestly, composition-wise you've nailed it, and the mixing is still great, and balanced especially well in the softer parts.

Love it ^______^.

Thanks for the feedback, man. I do need to work on my mixing a bit more... especially in the low and mids, thanks for pointing that out.

The low brass at the start of Gloria is a solo trombone "sus-leg" sound from EWQL. The epic horns are 6 French Horns "sus-leg". I normally don't use that because it's technically impossible (that'd be over 18 french horns just to play a triad), but it has a great epic sound to it. Both are playing Fortissimo, trombones down low, with a single octave interval between bass and tenor, then horns up in the middle range with close chords.

I'm sorry for almost ruining the thread.

Cover on Lo, How a Rose e'er Blooming is beautiful :D. I also love all the Opening themes. Overture of a Voyager is well made, the strings and brass work together so detail.

:/ too bad all the songs are short.

Made the purchase. :)
