believe it or not i was more of a youtube guy before. i knew about newgrounds first, but i wasnt really actively into it. a few years back though i got really into newgrounds over youtube, i guess i just like the community better or something. even so, its hard to get people to take an interest (especially my friends... they're stubborn)

Also making content exclusive? People will do that on their own accord as many do. If people don't want to make exclusive work for Newgrounds then how would begging or paying them to do so help at all? Newgrounds was built up to where it is today from the people who made content on their own accord, not from telling people to.
As for controversy. Just be quiet. Anyone at all who purposefully makes something to be controversial is doing it wrong. Assassin games caused a scene and then torture game 2 caused a huge uproar which led to a flash where you killed the woman who whined about it. That is the Newgrounds way. Making something just to try and be controversial is frankly a pathetic attempt clawing at strings to try and get attention.
And of course a final note, "this thread again" springs to mind. If Newgrounds was truly dying then why are the threads which yell about it on a daily basis not the only threads here. You might have noticed that isn't a question. Just be quiet.

I get everything you said I just want newgrounds to have there fanbase back. The king of the portal right now is that awful spam gaming account. 2 years ago that would never happen. We did not even have a best of 2011 award.

A kickstarter, to which the name implies, is to kickstart something to give it the money to be able to get into production / operation to begin to make what they promised.
It is not for advertisement. Which Newgrounds does perfectly fine not wasting its money on. What is the point of advertising when you don't need to? It wastes money for no real gain. Take tobacco companies for example they used to waste thousands if not millions on advertising every year against rival companies who did the same, and as a result all they did was cancel each other out and waste money. When tobacco advertising was banned neither side needed to waste their money anymore trying to best each other and they still got the same amounts of sales as a result. Advertising is not a must have thing for a company. If they don't need it they shouldn't waste their money.
You are whining about Newgrounds dying so why would you want them to waste the money they do have on pointless adverts?

Have you ever paid attention to the portal? All this spam isn't a new thing. Having shit groups trying to copy the majesty of CC is a newer thing but still not new. The two things you have mentioned don't even have anything to do with the website "dying". If the admins can't be arsed to chose a best of the year flash (which I am pretty sure they did as they usually enjoy it) and can't be arsed to change who is the king of the portal then it is because the admins are not doing it. It has NOTHING to do with anything you are claiming.
They have better things to do than worry about useless things likely, considering they are still updating the website and adding new features which for a handful of admins is quite a large task. I think you are the only one who would whine about things which would make them have to pause their progress to go and change. People complained enough about the procrastination of getting the redesign done so why would they do something else to make things take longer?
The problem with all of you people who continually claim the site is "dying" is that none of you ever put in the thought of looking at the reasons behind the things you notice, and whether they are actually changing at all over the years.

Parody is protected by copyright law. There are already Mulan parodies/instrumentals in the audio portal that have passed judgement.

Even though you put down all of my ideas you got a point on how there is a reason for Newgrounds dying. Am I getting to your way of thinking. The main problems are as followed.
1. Newgrounds lacks of advertising for content creators to benefit on
Solution: Obviously run ads on the non-flash videos because as far as i'm concerned they make no money on that so they are almost forced to make an audience on youtube.
2. A lot of popular youtuber animators want a website with customization options, maybe in a redesign someone with great power could do that.
3. Although this redesign in my opinion is amazing, people want a simpler design for a website.
I hope you can agree with me this time.
Newgrounds is still a massive site, it isn't going to shut its doors any time soon. Although I was thinking that perhaps if they launched a ipad/ iphone friendly app they might get a little more traffic, saying that I realise it would be difficult considering newgrounds predominantly deals with flash.
