i got new studio monitors for Christmas (equator d5) but i am having trouble with them. I bought 2, 1/4 audio cable converters to convert my speakers into 3.5 mm signals and then attached them with a spliter or yoke turning it into one cable. I then plug this cable directly into my computer or ipod. To make a long story short the sound is completely distorted and messed up when i do this and. Do i need an interface or an amplifier or something, what am i screwing up?
