Constructing a dubstep bassline? 2012-12-24 21:38:39

I recently bought this sample-pack for Massive NI and it contains a bunch of great dubstep-basses.

vol-2

So, any idea how I can create something like the track they made ^?

Do I just thrown on a bunch of random basses together and string them into a melody or.. I am not quite sure how the dubstep formula is laid out. Any advice? Thanks.

Sorry if my question is confusing. Basically I'd like to know how I can combine multiple dubstep basses to make a cool complextro bassline like the one in the track I posted.

Make short melody/bassline bits using different synths. Now that I think about it, it doesn't sound too hard...

I don't mean formula. I am talking about the track I posted specifically. I want to understand how certain parts of it were created, and how I can achieve a similar sound.

Yeah that's what I'm trying to do for now. Seems like there is a trick to it though.

All you gotta do, is take one (awesome) melody, and split the different parts of the melody among three different basses. Remember to take the reverb off the bass... or atleast use a reverb with a very short gate. use pad(s).

Well, since it's a NI Massive presets, just create a short bassline melody and wala!
