I dunno if I seem like I'm hopping on a band wagon or something, please check my stuff out and give a verdict of what you think, it's based around Fallout, so I suppose there's not a lot of that this day and age, but I dunno, just feel like some people may say "I STOLE CONCEPT AND DESIGN" Look at picture/comic...

no no, your comic should tell the story without there even being words in it (also the giant signature in the middle of your comic frame is absolutely obnoxious.)

Oh no, if you have to explain your comic, it's completely failed.

I think it would be best if you did your comic traditionally rather than digitally. Right now the art is medicre at best, and I truly have no idea of what is going on. And yes like the above user said, your comic should tell the story. If you have to explain the comic then you are doing something very wrong.

That doesn't mean it's right.

I had to look up these guys, and I can safely say that most of their comics, like most comic artists, is just a comment to their readers.
They do not have to explain the content of the comic when nobody understands what's going on. And if they do, then the comic has not been able to demonstration the artist's point, and does not work as an illustration.

Basically: you have failed to tell a story with images and words, but i think i see what you were trying to do there kind of. try again. its not a big deal, you are new to comics arent you? gotta start somewhere. I would suggest keeping your brush settings the same throughout the picture for lineart. i can tell the actual faces for the mutant were drawn differently/copy pasted because they are pixely while everything else isnt.

Dinosaur Comics has managed to get over 2000 out of the same 6 panel layout, and Ryan North's jokes are only getting better, not to mention that xkcd is absurdly popular despite being drawn with stick figures.

So to answer your question, yes people do appreciate simple comics. Just make sure the jokes are mad fly.

my whole thing is...esp with comics...it's a visual medium. But these aren't what they are for the visuals, the whole appeal is the writing/concept. So it's kind of anti-comic? It's like making a movie from a soundtrack. Just kinda missing the point.

I do like em when they're funny though.
