Yeah I picked up driving pretty quick, even though I did have a few fears of failure. But luckily I had an automatic which means you really don't have to learn much in regards to operating the vehicle, because lets face it stick is a bit more difficult to learn especially when you haven't driven before.

Hehe, I had an instructor, and I slept past the time he was supposed to pick me up, literally slept through the doorbell.
I call him when I wake up, and he says I can still do the training, but I gotta drive to Los Angeles and back during rush hour. I did it, and well, yeah, it was kind of like getting into cold water, better to just jump in head first sometimes.

As pussy-ish as it sounds, it's one of those things I've been putting off. 2013 is the year I REALLY, REALLY need to learn how to drive. This is getting a little embarrassing; you know it's time when you have to show Gamestop your school I.D. to buy an M-rated game instead of, y'know, a real fucking I.D.

I've been driving in my car lately, It's not quite a Jaguar but I bought it in Primrose Hill from some Brazilian guy.

I haven't driven a car, but I 'heard' that Evark and Dogmeat can share some tips about driving.

Also im really good at driving and ive only just started its just that I have to get used to that damn clutch if I want to drive a manual car. Ive been told im better at driving backwards than forwards as well but thats since I dont need to use the clutch much.

I'm not old enough to drive yet, but my Mom let me drive her car up and down our dirt road a few months ago. I think I'm going to be a terrible driver.

I picked up driving easily and it is something that I really enjoy. My car right now is a convertible and it is fun to ride in for sure. The only thing I was scared of when I first started driving was merging onto the freeway, but I am over that fear now.

I had to rush it because I was nearing high school graduation and would have to drive to college. I failed the license exam four or five times for trivial reasons. I'm fine now but there have been many close encounters with doom. You just need plenty of practice to get used to it.

Also, fuck parallel parking.

They didn't even test us on parallel parking where I live. Of course there isn't much of it required.

About a year and a half ago. What I didn't mention in that thread, however, is that my "instructor" put me on one of the most dangerous roads on Long Island for my first time. I had absolutely no experience (the other girls in my car had been driving for a while) and the guy was just holding the wheel for me the entire time.

I almost got in a bunch of accidents, and I got a trucker to curse me out. The girls in the back thought they were going to die and still hate me to this day.

I tried driving and I felt incredibly anxious the entire time.
That's why I intend to make other people give me rides until I get to NYC.
Then I'll rely entirely on the subway system.

Parallel parking is the easiest shit to do.

Except for when you have to squeeze into a really tight spot, I've always hated when I have to do that. Most of the time it is pretty simple though, once you get the feel for it, which happens surprisingly quick as long as you're practicing on a regular basis.

If you can parallel park then you shouldn't be allowed to drive because many situations in life call for you to do just that.

So...if we CAN parallel park we shouldn't be allowed to drive?

that makes so much sense....

I drove various vehicles for various jobs in the past. Forklift for warehousing. Pickup truck with snow plower for my uncle's winter job. Truck for long trip delivery (I have a separate G license for it).

But I never ride a motorcycle before, lol.

Man I hate parallel parking, old people driving, driving in Jewish areas (especially morning!), school areas and highway hotspots...

I did alright when my uncle let me drive my mom's minivan (without her knowing); parking is something I'll have to work on, but otherwise it was easy. I plan to get my license once I turn 18, mostly so that I don't have to pay for and take Driver's Ed.

It made more sense in my head.

I can drive fairly well. I currently only have my learner's permit, not my actual license (or rather, it would be my JOL), but I've driven with my dad quite often recently.

People who can't drive a manual car annoy me.

It's not like it's hard. I mean, if you can't work out combining a gearstick and a pedal, I do have to question exactly how many brain cells you're dedicating to guiding a ton of metal down the road in the first place.

It was alright. It took me 8 months to pass my test and that was first time around. My little brother passed his on the 8th attempt, so go figure.
