"Man, I nearly snapped my twig. Then again I nearly snapped A few of you"- Alice in Chains
99% of those views are probably from people watching it again (and again and again etc), not from people watching it once. It's popular because it's a catchy dance song with funny dance moves in the video, and it has not even come remotely close to affecting the world or the people in it as much as World War II did. Don't worry so much about it.

WHAT NO WAY

We live in the digital age remember. Saying that a popular music video is more important to people than the events of WW2 or freedom of speech.. Well, don't be silly of course not.
The idiots who like that go back for more and other people go on because they need to see wtf this fad started from. 2012 is year of the Gangnam Style. 2013 it'd be old and something else as cheesy and weird will come along.
Its just a poor mans Macarena anyway. Everyone was doing that in the 90s, every single disco. It died and so will Gangnam Style.
Youtube counts views, but not viewers. Therefore the fact that the number of the views is the 1/6 of the world population doesn't mean anything.

Yeap. I've heard people talk about like they view it everyday. It would make sense that video has so many videos. The smug, self satisfaction I get for knowing that I saw that video at under 30,000 views.
If it makes you feel any better Tox, I still haven't seen it. Heard of it and played a game or two based on it, watched the Halloween episode of South Park where they were referencing it by some of the kids dressing up in costume "Gangnam style", but no I haven't seen the actual thing yet.

A game of it? I don't want to ask for the link but I do.
People like to hop on the fad train. They hang out with friends and pretend to like the song when they actually can barely contain the vomit rising in their throats. If it wasn't for their amazing willpower and resilience, they would spew forth their undigested corndogs and baked beans from the previous day.

Well, like I said, this game I played (here on NG of course) is based on it. This game is like a DDR type thing anyway:
play as Psy dance around in Gangnam dsitrict with its hillarious style

Viral videos are becoming more popular. The media is actually paying attention to this shit now not to mention gangnam style is actually a serious well budgeted music video that I guess people like to listen to or something
I'm just curious to see what the next viral music thingy will be and how popular it gets
I still haven't seen it, and have no interest in seeing it. From what people keep saying about it it seems incredibly shit and not worth my time.

Actually not really one fifth of the pop. Just a lot of Re-Watching.
Emma has MANBOOBS!!!! BE AFRAID!
Because it's a viral video. Viral videos don't need to have substance, that's why they're viral. This is not a difficult concept.
I've never watched the entire thing all the way through
Not a single time
I'll put it into perspective:
On a few occasions at my college, I've heard student organizations and random people blast Gangnam Style.
Signature...Ha...
Did you know PSY also did a song a few years ago about wishing death on Americans...
