No. I think I will not stop saying that, it is my opinion. I've seen very few examples of good line art made in flash directly, its a horrible tool for beginners to try to use, the lines are almost random when drawn with pressure sensitivity even carefully. That makes them garbage.

Don't give advise saying not to use a tool, he may find it perfect for him flash is not a bad tool for drawing... OR coloring. It's not the best, but again let them decide for themselves. Suggest alternatives instead in a nice way

You've gone over the line by saying flash is not a bad tool for coloring. Please show me a decent painting done in flash. Anything. Anything that isn't simple cel shading.

And why is cel shading simple? Your personal line maybe, also coloring isn't painting last time i checked. When I update my DA vector artist watch list I'll send you some art. Mean time patience, I cant be arsed scouting the internet to prove a point

actually here's something i did at 16, took me 3-4 days, it was a straight up trace. But it wasn't cell shading so there
http://fc09.deviantart.net/fs11/f/2006/186/a/7/beetle.png I used the blur option on some of the top colors to make em rastery. I dont do that shit anymore because it is straight up tracing, but you can indeed replicate blurry and raster looks in a vector software if you try enough

Do i seriously need to explain to you why cel shading is considered simple?

I know all about vectors and vector artists, I am one, and Ive looked at some of the best vector artists already to learn whatever programs or techniques they used to do their shit.

Any vector art color that would be more advanced than cel shading would need to use gradients. They added a new feature in adobe illustrator called a gradient mesh which allowed some extremely patient artists to make realistic vector art colors that mimicked painted tones allowing for realistic rendering of objects. Flash's use of gradients is extremely inferior in comparison allowing only for the most simple of gradients to be created. This limits a persons use of color in flash and makes rendering extremely inefficient.

this is the best rendering that can be done currently with vector art mediums and it is through adobe illustrator, not flash that this can be done in. flash simply doesn't have the tools for the job. newgrounds is hilarious for defending flash as a drawing medium.
