Americans bemoaning about petrol prices would be hilarious if it wasn't so depressing for us Brits.

How much is it in the UK?

Its £1.34 here atm for a litre. I'm useless with gallons into litre conversion and most maths but let me give this a go..
1 Gallon (according to Google) is about 4.5 litres so £1.34 times 4.5 is £6.03. Which (according to xe.com) is $9.77.
So it works out that we pay the equivalent of $9.77 for one gallon of fuel here.
It's around $2.92 a gallon, which isn't bad actually, considering that about 5 years ago or so, it was almost $4 a gallon. Filling up the gas tank is still expensive, but it certainly isn't as bad as it was before, price-wise at least.
Just stop worrying, and love the bomb.

I always thought a the liter to gallon was 3.8L=1G

Yeah the cost of living here is incredible now. Even products we both use the same thing of. Like I looked up Lego costs before, and the same sets were much much cheaper to get in the US then to get here. It wouldn't be an issue if our income reflected our high outcome. But it doesn't, which is why the only store chains making big sums atm here at 99p stores (dollar stores for you guys).
