A Muppet Family Christmas.

This is an old favorite.

It's about the Muppet gang coming to the home of Fozzie's mom for Christmas.

It also crosses over with Sesame Street, and Fraggle Rock.

Here are the movies that I have heard to be the best Christmas movies.

A Christmas Carol (1938)
It's A Wonderful Life
A Miracle On 34th Street (1947)
A Christmas Carol (1984) (TV)
The Nightmare Before Christmas
Arthur Christmas

I've seen all but the 1938 Christmas carol.

Me and my Dad have this Christmas tradition. Every year on Christmas we watch the 1938 version of "A Christmas Carol."

I remember Bad Santa was pretty funny.

For the rest I mostly associate Christmas with films like Home Alone, Home Alone 2, Harry Potter and the Philosopher Stone, A Christmas Carol (any of the 500 adaptations) and Shrek.

I'll throw my vote for the good ol' 1959 Mexican classic, Santa Claus.

You know, the one where Santa teams up with Merlin the Wizard to fight a demon named Pitch and save Christmas.

It also has some of the most impressive usage of cultural and racial stereotyping ever in a film.

My absolute favourite when I was a kid was Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer: The Movie. I think I still have it on VHS somewhere, but I must have watched it 10 times each christmas.

Bad Santa is brilliant, I try and catch that when it's on telly. Elf and The Grinch are also obvious choices but are brilliant and I watched Nativity for the first time the other day which is very very silly but I found it bloody hilarious.

Here's my picks for good Christmas movies...

- Bad Santa: For some reason, this gets me in the Christmas spirit moreso than all those schmaltzy feel good holiday films.
- Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale: An awesome foreign flick about a group of guys and one kid who kidnap and ransom what they think is Santa Claus.
- Saint Nick (a.k.a. Sint): Another foreign flick. Every 32 years on Saint Nicholas day, a supernatural version of Saint Nick (and his helpers, the Black Peters) shows up and kills a whole buncha people, and its up to a grizzled cop and teenage boy to stop him.
- Black Christmas: The original (though, I have a soft spot for the awful remake as well).
- Christmas Evil: A flick about a guy who's so obsessed with the holiday, he dresses up as Santa and steals toys from the factory where he works, and kills those who don't have the Christmas spirit. Seriously, it's just a damn good movie.
- Die Hard: A Christmas classic. :)

Forgot one... (damn lack of an edit button. Sorry for the double post)...

- 6 Films to Keep You Awake: The Christmas Tale: It's another foreign flick about a group of kids who find a woman dressed up as Santa Claus in a hole in the woods. Turns out, she's a bank robber, and the kids basically starve her in hopes that she'll give up the money she stole. But soon she escapes, and then goes after the kids.

Yeah, my idea of "the magic of Christmas" is a bit skewed, I'll admit. :)

The Year Without A Santa Claus is one of those old Christmas movies made out of clay and a symbol of my childhood. Snow Miser was the shit.

Oh wait, how could I forget "A Christmas Story"?

My favorite (while it isn't feature length) is "A Charlie Brown Christmas". It's the only Christmas special I watch every year.

all christmas movies suck, and christmas only means "bad tv for two months"

i mean, if you want to fuck up tv for a holiday, do it for that fucking day, not for 2 flucking moths, thats fucking 1/6 of the year

Silent Night.

It's a loose reimagining of Silent Night, Deadly Night.

It's okay. Nothing too special.

I didn't enjoy it as much as other evil Santa epics like the original SNDN, Christmas Evil, and Rare Exports.

I'd say it's on par with Santa's Slay.
