Must See X-mas Movies? 2012-12-15 19:11:36

Guys, it's Christmas time and that means it's time to watch Christmas/Holiday movies. I know some of the movies that I want to see, but I was curious to see what movies you guys enjoy. Here's some of the movies I want to see:

Elf, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, and A Christmas Story.

So, what else is there to see? What X-Mas flicks do you guys enjoy?

Home Alone. Great Christmas movie. Watch it almost every year.

Christmas Vacation, one version or another of A Christmas Carol, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, It's a Wonderful Life, and others that I can't think of right now. None of the Rankin Bass specials though. Most of those are kind of silly.

When did I become so bitter and edgy? We don't even have the sound of Christmas music ringing through the house.

I've become so focused on myself and my own misery I haven't even given a thought of shopping for others. I just want to dissapeear but it's sad because as a kid this is the time of year that brought me the most happiness. Now I don't even hardly talk to my family.

Let alone watch Christmas movies with them. I'm a stranger in my own home.

Elf, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and Home Alone are mine. I think I remember seeing The Santa Clause, and that was quite good too. ^-^

Gremlins and Die Hard are the only two that spring to mind. The Great Escape, obviously, but that's not really a Christmas movie, just a movie always watched at Christmas.

The Ref is pretty good.

It's a comedy about a career thief who holds a bickering couple hostage in their home on Christmas Eve.

It's a really funny movie.

My personal favorite is Mickey's A Christmas Carol from the 1980s.

Good suggestions so far everyone.

White Christmas. Yes it's dated and shamltzy but it's legitimately shamltzy. Anything we're cynical about 60 years later is our own fault. Plus the songs are really good.

I like the first Santa Clause, but don't care much for the sequels. Yeah, we get it, he's Santa Clause. I think you said all you needed to with the first movie.

It's a Wonderful Life is a great movie. A great christmas movie, and a great movie in general.

It's like an emotional roller coaster. When it's sad, it's REALLY sad, and when it's heartwarming, it's REALLY heartwarming.

You read my mind.

Also I have to see It's a wonderful Life at least once during the season. Not really well known but Santa Claus: The Movie I try to watch just out of nostalgia sake rather than it being a good movie.

Now horrible must see x-mas movie goes to Santa Claus Conquers the Martians, which is only watchable with MST3k riffs.

A Muppet Family Christmas.

This is an old favorite.

It's about the Muppet gang coming to the home of Fozzie's mom for Christmas.

It also crosses over with Sesame Street, and Fraggle Rock.

nothing beats National Lampoons Christmas Vacation. Best Xmas movie ever.

Here are the movies that I have heard to be the best Christmas movies.

A Christmas Carol (1938)
It's A Wonderful Life
A Miracle On 34th Street (1947)
A Christmas Carol (1984) (TV)
The Nightmare Before Christmas
Arthur Christmas

I've seen all but the 1938 Christmas carol.
