I been called from idiot to genius in life. From last few personal expectations I can't decide on any level of intelligence for myself. Usually in the past I shifted wildly from humble low self esteem to complete know it all jackass arrogance.

So I'm wondering, how smart do you think you are, and why?

I'm not smart. Everyone around me is a moron.

I'm rather smart if I say so myself. I learn quickly and I'm sharp enough to solve most challenges in a short amount of time.
...However I'm absent-minded as hell sometimes.

I think it's funny when "smart" people get corrected by the ones who actually are.

There are multiple kinds of intelligences. IQ tests will only measure your linguistic and logical-mathematical intelligence. So that wouldn't really be accurate.

Notice how I didn't say how to measure intelligence. All the conditions are completely your opinion.

There's no real gauge you can use for something that broad.
For instance, eagles and other sharp sighted airborne creatures have to make complex visio-spacial decisions and estimations within seconds to catch their prey in time yet birds of all kinds are considered one of the dullest creatures when it comes to intelligence simply because they can't solve some gimmicky color-matching test the same way primates and marsupials can.

Whilst the IQ test can measure certain standings in relation to other people, the fact that we need different IQ tests for different regions of the world and the general inconsistency when dealing with average IQ scores within populations since 1945, illustrates it's unreliability.

All fine and good, but that tells me intelligence is relative, and not what relative intelligence you actually have......

So do you not have any intelligence? The eagle has intelligence in respect. Plus can you honestly say every human being has equal intelligence in respect to one another? True I didn't mention human society in my topic. It was implied.

I'm aware that I'll never know everything, and that I'll be constantly learning until I'm dead. If I encounter something interesting that I don't understand, I go out of my way to understand it if time allows.

I've been flattered over and over again about my intelligence, so I have no choice but to believe them every once and a while. I don't do many stupid things, and I know people who are pretty dumb...by comparison, I know that I'm not dumb, and I'm not average, so I think I'm pretty smart.

Even if we only talk about relative intelligence it still is broad to the point of meaning nothing.
Auditory saviancy can arise from being blind, simply due to the fact that you have to rely almost exclusively on auditory cues to navigate your environment.
You can have a lot of lingual intelligence but fail a language course repeatedly, you can fully understand algebra at the age of 9 yet bomb every single math class you take in high school. It's that inconsistency I mentioned.

Every human brain has different wiring than the next, influenced by genes and early environment. Some wiring favors some skills and and vice versa.
The people in Africa you see being written off by ass hat 1st world scientists as having an average intelligence of 70 live and survive with kids everyday in conditions most college professors wouldn't know the first thing to do with.

I consider myself to have an average high school intelligence and thats it. I just excel with self awareness and common sense.

God damn it naronic. It is not a hard question. Stop complicating the issue with the whole picture and jump around with abstract notions of environmental variables, good genes and with enough effort you can....bla bla bla. I don't care whatever can or cannot happen of what stoic reality causes anyone's level of intelligence. I don't care about other people or anyone under god!

I can read people's intentions no matter how hard they try to hide it.Aside from that I guess I'm just smart enough to graduate high school.

As it stands, I'm probably not smarter than a high schooler atm.

I've totally forgotten the basics of Algebra. Well, not totally, but you get my point.

However, I still do excel at english. In fact, I have a top score on the SAT for english and school in general. I need to work on my math again. I'm not dumb-clueless, though.

I think in general I'm an average guy.

But more importantly, depend on what environment I encounter and act on.

People have been viewing me as from idiot to retard; in field such as people skill and general labour. But when comes to things like problem solving such as hacking, programming or business; I have been viewed by my peers and comrades as someone who's very skilled in these fields. There are also grey zone in me for some other stuff like music, sport and art.

Well yeah. If they're willing to be my friend, there's GOT to be a few screws loose up there.

Most people that I know say that I'm pretty smart, being Asian and a little nerdy probably helps a bit with that impression.

I have a lot of general knowledge and I'm decent at logical thought and coming up with ideas. I'm bad at abstract concepts and get confused and frustrated when I try to communicate abstract ideas. I'd say that my intelligence is a little above average but I'm certainly no genius.
