4.07 / 5.00 13,902 ViewsHowdy, folks. I joined yesterday to the NewGrounds community here, and I am having issues submitting art to the proper portal.
After filling out all the required fields along with cropping and accepting the image, I get a certain error screen when submitting the file with the "all done?" button.

I have attempted to do some digging in the forums to see if I could find the answer to this, but my results so far have been less than stellar. However, from what I have read, I think reason I have not been able to submit art through the art portal since I signed up yesterday is due to my account not having some sort of external approval of sorts. Is this true?
Information on the subject would be much appreciated. I have heard the community here is far more useful than that of deviantArt in terms of feedback, and I would love to take advantage of that.

Refresh, and try again. If the failure persists, try using a different web browser. (Firefox to Chrome and visa-versa)
Hopefully this thread will catch attention of a mod if it's a matter of newcomer's having to go under some newfangled approval process that I'm not aware of.
Going to the General Forums and scrolling to the bottom will let you know which users are mods and which ones are online at the time.
Best of luck! Looking forward to seeing your content. PM me a link to your work if it's been resolved

No luck there, mate. Though thanks for the advice. I'll see if i can PM one of the mods on there to see if they will take notice if they don't do so soon.
The same error message is persisting, regardless of which browser I use. Just for kicks, I tried different formats for the art I wanted to submit as well, but the same error result happens like the screencap i linked in the first post.
Having to deal with this since the three days I have joined, and NOT being able to participate in the art community neyon forum posting is becoming increasingly agitating.
I would really appreciate it if a moderator or someone who could take a look at this issue would be able to respond to me about this. If I am having this issue as a NEW USER, I can only imagine what effect this would have on other new users if they experience the same problem.

Other than making suggesting, there's not really much a moderator (or any other user) can do or 'look at'. We have nothing to do with how the site functions.
Why don't you try uploading the image to your dump and if that works, post a link here along with your OS and browser info/versions.
Other things to check... make sure your file size is within the site specs and don't use any non-standard characters in the name (file and display).
You're welcome to make a thread in the art forum too if you want to get in on the 'community' stuff.
Good luck.
I have the same exact problem in Chrome and Firefox. I tried uploading several times with different images and no luck. Maybe the staff are working on a fix.

Thanks for your help, ReNaeNae. Here's the info for my things.
Dump link:
---> http://www.newgrounds.com/dump/item/01e74541dee866075afb7e5c 84adeacd
OSinfo:
Windows 7 Professional
Service Pack 1
64-bit OS
System Info(incase it might be needed):
TOSHIB - Satellite A505
Intel Core i3 CPU
4.00 Gigs RAM
Firefox Info
17.0 (No updates available)
Chrome Info
23.0.1271.95 m (no available updates)
None of the files I tried to upload were outside the file specs specs given for uploading, no non-standard characters either.
Unfortunately, I don't have a different internet connection or computer to try this from at this time to see if that would help narrow down the problem, but I will post in here the results of that if I do have the chance later.
Hope this helps.
Hey there, since you already made sure that the browser is not the issue and neither the filesize nor the max dimension limit is exceeded, I have one last (silly sounding) thing you could try.
Some users reported that the problem was fixed when they either resaved the file under a different name or saved it in a different folder or generally a different location on their harddrive. I know that sounds weird and I don't even know why it works, but it apparently helped some users with the issue.

Like you, I have absolutely no idea how or why that worked, but for some reason it worked.
It didn't work the first few times I tried it because of file locations I chose, such as on a folder on the desktop or on the desktop itself, but it worked when I saved it under the actual library directory for "pictures."
Either way, thank you for bringing this suggestion to me. Now I can somewhat use this site for what I originally intended to use it for.
