Isn't the English language funny?
I've used the word 'Expodentially' since I was thirteen.
Expodentially:
Meaning a mass of something
Synonym: Substantial
Today I was told by one of my professors that the word doesn't exist. I feel like I may be in the twilight zone.
Thoughts? Anyone else use made-up words?

Good job?
Essentially. I was curious to see if this was a common thing, or if there were any other stories as such within the community.
Very good summary, by the way.

Eh, I've done that a few times with pronunciation.
I used to say "pseudo" as "suede-o." Like Blue Suede Shoes.
As long as the person correcting you isn't a total dick about it, it's not so bad.

I tend to type "aswell" like that even though they should technically be separate.

For the longest time (since the pokemon days) I always read the word 'facade' as Fuh KADE
I've always heard the word "Fuh-sod" and know how to use it properly in a sentence... but I never had to write it
When I found out that the two were the same word...

Woah how long have you been able to use the code HTML on general?
Derpy doo.
I hope it works.
I'm really annoyed that "lolz" was added to the dictionary and my professor still doesn't consider "ain't" a word.

I can't say I've ever had this problem personally, but my wife pronounced words wrong when we first met.
Confiscated was pronounced "confinscated." Like confined, only..confin..scated. A mystery N just showed up in the middle of the word.
Across was pronounced "Acrrossed" or "Accrosst", some kinda mystery modifier just showed up on the end of the word.
The rest of our differences are just regional dialect differences, but there's legitimately no reason to add in sounds that aren't there.

Same here, It always pissed me off how Google Chrome spell-check says it's wrong. It just doesn't look right spelled in 2 seperate words.
