The wieners of this contest are...
1)
A miniature cinematic orchestral suite. >MADE FOR THE QUEST FOR THE CROWN CONTEST<
2)
Orchestral programmatic piece for the Bosa contest.
3)
Sad song, for Quest for the Crown Contest by Bosa
4)
My submission for Bosa's Quest for the Crown contest! (2:10)
I will send the four who have won a pm regarding your rewards. All are quite unique. I have deemed every contestant worthy of my recognition, and you all are honorable. I would gladly honor you all and our friendship.
I believe this contest was a success and that many great songs were produced. I was hoping to hear more emotional pieces, but this will more than suffice.
I noticed that the image above is quite squinty, so hopefully this one will be better. Again, I will explain this list in a moment.
...you are very prompt. Yaaayyy.
I looked at the first one and had to squint extremely asianlike. And then...nothing. (I cried) No seriously though, there were a lot of true classical contenders here. I think I didn't grasp the concept well. Oh well. The court jester goes to the corner and giggles to herself/himself/itself.
Great job to y'all that won. I should keep an eye on you guys, a friendly eye...not the snooping or conniving kind. This contest at least made me expand and think a little more than I usually don't.
...I hope you're...being sarcastic when you say that you were hoping to hear more emotional pieces :(
These are the factors I focused on while judging:
Novelty/Originality -- If the song was completely original and variable (not repetitive).
Orchestration -- If multiple orchestral instruments were used, and if instrumentation was of a large scope.
Emotion -- If the song contained movements that affected strong feelings.
Realism -- If the instrumentation was realistic, or performed/sequenced realistically.
Composition/Arrangement -- If the song was well structured and intricately defined. Spending more time on your song would have helped this score.
You all can compare your scored with the list above.
YES. This is the first time I ever placed in a competition.
Great job to all the winners, it was a great run. And thanks to Bosa for organising this.

You ranked well in your quest. I was honored to have you participate, and I will gladly summon you when a new quest calls our names.
Wait... you claim kingship for yourself in the end anyway? How scandalous!!
Anyway, good choices of winners and neat contest Bosa! Was fun to try to orchestral my way around things.

...So on a sleepless night I decide to browse the NG Audio Forums and I stumble onto this! I am honored to win this contest amongst many of NG's most talented orchestral composers! It looked like a VERY close race here! I'm relatively new to the NG Audio Portal so this is a little overwhelming to me...
Congrats to the other composers who I am extremely honored to share placement with!
samulis
dem0lecule

These guys have been around way longer than I have and it's not a surprise to me at all that they're on the top four!
Very special thanks to Bosa for organizing this competition, it really brought the best out of all us!
So who wants some insight on how I won this contest?

Ha, almost made it to the top ten !
Guess i'm not that good.
Anyways, this was a great contest, and some rare gems were produced.
Even though I didn't win, looking at the list, the only participants who got 8 or above for Emotion were deadlyfishes, dem0lecule and me. So I'm thankful for that.
But seriously, the contest had some great entries. Thanks Bosa for organizing the contest as well. We should have more of these.
Congrats Samulis, Step and deadlyfishes!
My heart just dropped...
At first my sleepy eyes couldn't even find my own name on the pic. And then I saw myself right on the 3rd place! Oh my goodness.
I actually won something first time on NG...

Aw. . . Oh well this was expected, I never do well in these kinds of things. But was fun to enter none the less!
Congrats to the winners!

I was thinking about doing that and explaining the scores for each person, but uh... lol
Congrats to all the wieners!!

I am surprised. I actually got a decent overall score. I knew I wasn't going to get a very good score in realism, but still wow. If you ever do something like this again, I'll try to get started earlier and make a higher-quality piece since the one I submitted was fairly casual. :)
[4:38 PM] Stephan Wells: it sounds terrible. therefore dubstep <--Skype. Yay.
Oh, also. There is no way that you managed to score the 19 people who submitted to all have different scores that are only 1 apart accidentally. How the heck did you plan that?

Wow man I don't know how I made it to 9
that score I wrote crashed my POS computer like a prostitute on cocaine
it was frustrating but was a good learning experience :D
congrats to the winner
We shall meet again!!!!!

Congrats to the winners... alas, I joined this place a bit too late to submit an entry. Next time, perhaps.
Ach, so close yet so far away!
Anyway, was great fun listening to the submissions, congrats to the winners!

At least you defeated Prince Rupert!
THIS CROWN IS NOT FOR TAKING

I just found out Prince Rupert is a City in BC, Canada.

lol, more funny is an online friend of mine came from that place...

Prince Rupert is a sneaky one, he is. He'll steal a country right from under our noses.
This contest was honestly a lot of fun. I am thankful for the critique of folks on my original concept for an entry, as well as all the great submissions I got to listen to. I always enjoy having a chance to hear other takes on something that is so familiar yet so distant. M0le man, I'm proud of you... I swear you're going to trump me one of these days and crush my frugal attempts to write emotion-packed music under your tracker mastery. ;)
It was a thrill to see people like Deadfishes and Step, both of whom I respect immensely for their mastery of the cinematic style among others, as well as many people who I have not met or seen before.
Bosa, my liege, I guess you tricked a bunch of court musicians into harping for your entertainment... again. :P

Hey, speaking for myself, in all honesty, I would enjoy playing for someone and giving him joy, rather than thinking of becoming king. (On that note, Bosa, next time this comes on, shall I bring my bodhrán along?)

I hope that next time there will be duels and massive musical works.

I would hope so. And I assure you all that the next contest will be even more unique than this one (which it would have to since this contest did not make me content at all).

:) I'm proud of you too. It's nothing secret about the trick to gain emotional songs lol. Sad style is my weapon. I actually have quite a few writing joyful music. Welp, it's actually first time I compose something like this on a tracker.
It was a thrill to see people like Deadfishes and Step, both of whom I respect immensely for their mastery of the cinematic style among others, as well as many people who I have not met or seen before.
I personally think Step was busy or something. He could have toppled us all with his Sanctuary song style. But Mr. Samulis has OP 100 style, so basically nothing should have left for me.
Bosa, my liege, I guess you tricked a bunch of court musicians into harping for your entertainment... again. :P
Who knows, maybe Prince Rupert and Bosa are actually the same person?
