Well, the topic-title says it all.
For how long can you hold your breath?
Here is a stopwatch. Good luck!
My time was 01:47

Unable to tell as my body doesn't let me do things like that unless I was in a situation where it would be needed.

I still consider myself a fucking fine swimmer, though.

Literally, guys. I think his body is actually composed mostly of fecal matter. Like, literally. My English teacher is crying.
52 seconds on my first try. I would be able to hold for longer, when I was younger I could hold for about 1:30, I guess I just have to be underwater.
Exerting energy like 30 sec.

Yes. She can read minds. I'm speaking literally here of course.

7 minutes was my all time record in 1994.
I became a bit retarded after that.

Holy crap
The guy with the world record for holding his breath under water, can hold his breath 8 minutes above water. He did an AMA.
I was a world class scuba diver for the Imperial Athletics Academy for Fitness and Health. We would do practice sessions everyday to get our air intake up. I could hold for longer, but I'm hungry so I'mma go get some McDonalds.

1:27 as a moderate-heavy smoker, before doing any lung expansion, 2:14 after. I like to consider myself fairly fit for a smoker, and taking a few deep breaths before attempting this makes a big difference.
I'm still holding it since when I was born. As a matter of fact, I never used my lungs ever.

You may be fast on the roads but it's no use on the track.

I wanted to make it so that everyone can join. Even losers without digital watches.
Wait... You people breathe all the time?
Weaksauce.
I only breathe on my birthday, sometimes on Christmas if I'm real drunk and feeling crazy.
You're all oxygen gluttons, and probably have giant obese lungs. HA.
38 seconds.
Not too bad considering I have a chronic lung disease.

My mind does not simply allow me to hold my breath, as it gives a chance of death.
Actually, I'm too scared to hold my breath for too long. Unless I'm under water and have to swim 30 meters whilst not surfacing, I'm not going to risk anything.
You can't harm yourself by holding your breath. Your body will force inhalation and/or pass out to reduce need for oxygen to the brain. Any mental block to holding your breath is psychological--it's an ability innate to all humans. Fear of it is one thing, but your body will 'allow' you to hold it until you begin to auto-respirate (before or after passing out). The only way this can translate to harm is if you're asphyxiating yourself with an external method, like a tie or a rope or some shit. Unfortunately, that's not a sign that your body is ultra-tuned for survival. It's a sign that your blood is not oxygenating properly. Obesity, high cholesterol, asthma, and apnea are common causes.
Knowledge bomb dropped. :)
Only 40 seconds... Why? Because I'm asthmatic :(
ive been holding my breath for the entire 3 days i was bant , because i had just inhaled from a dooby spliff.
