I'll end up watching it if I get the change, but it doesn't look like the kind of thing I was expecting. I don't know if any of you guys saw it, but Happy Console Gamer released a movie not too long back and it was actually alright. I think it actually looks like it's going to be better than the AVGN movie if that trailer was anything to go by.

The effects look a little iffy, but on his budget, hell, I'll take 'em. The movie on the whole actually looks pretty good. Not something great that everyone will love, but it looks like something I would really enjoy.

What are you talking about? this actually looks amazing I would love to watch it. Those that actually pay attention to James and not just know of him as the angry video game nerd would know he has always wanted to get into making movies like this and using this character he is finally able to live his dream. This isn't some sort of attempt to milk his viewers it is something that he personally desires and as such it makes it all the better.

If you are complaining about the use of special effects then you should actually pay attention to his videos when he talks about the type of cinema he enjoys and how he likes using puppets and other older methods over using the less personal feel of CGI. This isn't a holywood funded box office hit project, and he himself stated that it being shown in cinemas would be the best case scenario but he wouldn't be shocked if it didn't happen. For the low budget he used this is a well made and interesting movie using lots of the more physical styles of cinematic styles which are neglected these days.

people are mad as shit because he got $300 000, from donations, and has produced what appears to be a slightly more glamorous version of a shitty youtube movie, something like tgwtg or freddiewong would make. you're making a big deal about the $300 000 and how you seem to be implying that with that amount of money, you can't expect to make a credible movie, and therefore the avgn movie as it is currently perceived is acceptable.

you remember drive? that movie from last year? budget of $15 million and arguably one of the best movies of 2011. there was also this other movie called donnie darko? it only had a $5 million dollar budget

i guess millions are too big, we can dial it back a bit. brick had a budget of $475 000. bronson was made with a budget of $250 000. blair witch project $60 000. clerks like $30 000

No seriously though, the trailer looked like a nightmare. The thought of the movie being this bad never entered my head. I thought worst case scenario: it will just be a boring hour and a half AVGN episode, but this is worse, a lot worse.
this looks like a collaboration between all the worst directors all time.

To tell the truth I am huge AVGN fan and I always loved the shit that he makes, but this movie is going to be pure fucking garbage.

OMFG, that looks amazing! Some parts reflected the budget, just a little. The end scene was maybe a bit too obviously done with a hose (of course it was, but when people use that effect they hide it better).

I do think it's funny enough to win awards & stay afloat in the public eye, just about. I for one am a huge fan though, & I am sure I'll enjoy this movie. :)
