So, I've never read the book, nor really know what it's about (other than zombies, obviously), but I gotta say this movie looks pretty good (for a blockbuster zombie film).

I thought the Zombie idea had been overdone and all, but it looks more action packed than ever, and also fun.

What's your thoughts? Have you read the book? Etc.

I read the book, so I have high hopes for this movie. The trailer looks promising, but doesn't seem to follow the book, which tells the story of a zombie almost-apocalypse through the eyes of many, many people.

It just looks like too much for me. I want a "realistic" zombie movie one day, with great actors and a great script. It should show the zombies obviously, but it should be more focused on the survivor. This movie looks fine, but it seems like a generic action movie with fake looking CGI zombies.

Never read the book. Not gonna raise my hopes for the movie, but I will see it. After I read the book, of course.

Because any zombie movie where the zombies can only shamble and aren't of the "lol indestructible" kind would be incredibly short. Picture what would have logically happened at the battle of Yonkers if Brooks was logical and not an idiot with that part.

Oh, well in that case, that's a valid complaint. I never even heard of the book until people were talking about the movie being made a year or two ago.

Yeah, I'm somewhat upset that the zombies are running, but I don't think it necessarily means the movie will be bad, though.

What I AM mad about, however, is that the whole point of the book was that the whole ordeal was told from beginning to end through the eyes of different people all over the world. This looks like just some guy trying to save his family. Not a bad story, but then, why put World War Z's title on it if you're going to tell a different story?

Does it look like a good movie? Hell fucking yes, plus it seems to have wholly managed to make zombies a credible threat and not a nerd's blood drenched apocalyptic fantasy.

Does it look like a good adaption of the book? Fuck no. Jesus balls it looks NOTHING like the book.

Probably just the first two and to a somewhat lesser extend the third. Those were good films, but I would like a modern version of that. A film with Oscar level writing and acting but with a plot centered around a very small group of survivors in a zombie infested world.

Vampires are ruined for the time being. Why not bring back the Wolfman? Or a new Frankenstein based on the book would be amazing.

I agree, I personally enjoyed the book. However, they knew another documentary film was not going to give them the money they needed........I don't know about this one. I will watch it.....but I won't go in expecting too much.

I think Day of the Dead was really good. The fourth one he made, Land of the Dead, however, was pretty disappointing.

If I do recall correctly, the book mentioned if a running chunk of dead flesh even had the ability to run, it would probably be only for a few seconds before the dead flesh started to fall off until it was nothing but a head, attempting to gnaw at your ankles. I may have to reread it again as it's been a while since I last touched the book.

As for the zombies forming a pyramid at the walls, the book did state that the zombies were dumb enough that they would beat on the walls rather than look for a detour to reach their victims, even if that meant piling ontop of each other to create a mound of dead to use as a ramp.

The book does not apply that logic to a smaller scale with their ability to walk however. All it was is a cheap justification because the author personally doesn't like zombies that can run. For trying to go about using a realistic approach, he really fails in this regard for such a weak justification. If zombies can run, it would at least make more sense why stairs or curbs aren't their greatest downfall from tripping all over each other and acquiring damage that will not repair

That's a big if that ruins zombie movies for me. Who cares if you're a zombie? If you lose enough blood, it's physically impossible for you to move your muscles and you will die. If you don't eat you will run out of energy and you will die. That's just biology. Going for the head could be the quickest way to kill one but certainly not the only way.

The only zombie movies that work for me are the ones that involve magic or diseased people that can be killed without the headshot nonsense.
