Would learning As 2 be worth it?

I was thinking of getting back into Flash when I got my laptop. I have an old As 2 book I haven't opened pasted chapter 2. I was wondering if it would even be worth to learn As 2. Or should I skip to As 3. I'm not looking to do too much. Just get the basic kind of things down.

learn as3, as2 is outdated, nobody uses it anymore.

AS3. I cannot stress enough, learn AS3.

There are so many benefits to switching from AS2 to AS3 it's ridiculous.
I wouldn't even know where to start describing them all.

i'm learning AS 3.0 right now. there's a lot more you can do with it, but it doesn't hold your hand as much as AS 1 or 2.0

but of course there is no reason to invest your time learning a dead language

That's not true.
As3 provides more and better Error messages that help you fix your issues quicker.
