Ive noticed not very many blams anymore, today there was 5 and a few years ago there were hundreds. It seems like no one updates anymore, or as much as they used to.

Honestly, flash games are a dying breed of video game. The overall "feel" of flash games has shifted almost entirely to IOS/Android phones and devices. It's more convenient, as phones and tablets can go ANYWHERE. Flash video's are also finding a place on YouTube. People get PAYED for their content on youtube. The difference here is that on newgrounds the opportunities to make money are limited, while youtube and phones offer quite a bit of wiggle room for earning cash.
Newgrounds won't actually "die", but i see a shift of focus in the near future.

You're right, I've been holding back on making flash shits because I feel like not many people will see them anyway. I hope newgrounds gets mad popular again.

Like everybody here I'd say that the redesign killed newgrounds. Splitting the games and movies and giving them their own page kind of killed off the traditional portal. Newgrounds used to be a place where it was easy to find new content but now with this system we can only really find the best.

Im not sure if I ever visited this site back then. But I think the current layout is good and simple. You can easily find new games. Games - Latest.

I know but that system doesn't say if they are under judgement or not. People who used the portal went there specifically to get their 10 xp and blam/save points. Now levels and under judgment flash are a lot less significant.

A couple of the more successful animators got skilled to the point where they decided to move on to more commercial routes and ever since that started happening, a lot of people have been crying either foul or wolf.
I agree that it's a little disappointing that 2009-2011 style quality isn't really around all that much anymore (except for Sexual-Lobster's fucking rad flashes) but it's left a void literally anyone with a tablet and a copy of flash can fill. I think that Newground's standards of quality have somewhat risen to the point where absolute beginners might feel a little intimidated (I think it's been said a few times before, but Pico's school would be thrashed in today's portal), but even blams have plummeted to the point of negligibility.
It's not dead, or dying, there's just a lull in the action.
