It's interesting to note that this also means Disney will own the rights to the Indiana Jones franchise. I hope they don't mess with that one too much. Rides based around the original movies would be cool though.
I assume we're going to see that kid from Transformers be the next Indiana Jones now.
Also, regarding Star Wars - I am very curious as to how they are going to handle Episode 7, 8 and 9. I fear that they are going to screw up, looking at some of the company's recent releases 2010-12 (see: Prom, Alice in Wonderland, Prince of Persia, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides). However, maybe we'll luck out and get one of their better films (see recently: The Muppets, The Avengers, Toy Story 3).
The problem is that it will come down to luck, and when a hit-or-miss company takes the reins of the Star Wars franchise, there is definitely room for concern.
Don't get me wrong - I'm no Star Wars fanatic.
I am not a child of the 1960s-70, so I was not around when the original trilogy was "ground breaking". I don't perceive the original episodes 4, 5 and 6 as "untouchable" revered films that shouldn't be revamped. When I first saw them, I found them to be pretty boring actually. And now, while I enjoy them, I also see them as a brilliant marketing scheme by Lucas to sell merchandise.
