Because the line between "her property" and a human life is blurred. The logic of many pro-choice arguments can be used to even legalize the "abortion" of toddlers and the mentally handicapped. I am not saying all arguments are this fallible, but there should be more clear definitions on what makes a human being. "Awareness" is an attribute commonly used on both sides, but it is unfortunately difficult to measure and define due to its high variability.

Stop trying to pretend you don't like abortion for non-religious reasons, you worthless moron.

The pro-life crowd is not comprised entirely of "religious people". The secular arguments are similar to a "hypothetical" effort to outlaw murder. I am not aware of any responsible adult atheist who thinks murder is right. This debate is primarily centered around the rights of the fetus - is an unborn baby still a human being with unalienable rights including the (at the very least, negative) right to life. Any mention of "God" usually renders the argument invalid, which is why very few people use it as a basis.
