Lame Mspaint Robot... Any Tips?

Ok so I do pretty good drawings and doodles with pencil and paper (not life like but still good) so I decided to give makeing a robot on MSPaint a go and.. it aint good. Anybody got any tips to improve on MSPaint? Any feedback would be nice and be harsh if you need to.

i think it turned out quite good actually, by no means perfect, and i can see you copy and pasted the "gems" on the forehead, but for Paint, this is good haha. why don't you use something that's a little better then paint?

Some shading would be great. Pick a direction for the light to be coming from and imagine the light and shadows that would cause.

Is there a reason you're using MS Paint? It's not a very good drawing program- we've got a list of better ones here. Many of them are free and you can download them straight off the internet.

I just think paint is just alright. Not too simple not too hard just right. Thanks though but those arnt gems they are its eyes cameras so it can see.

Ill think about useing something else for paint like Gimp but the last time I tried useing gimp it was difficult for me to understand it.

Thanks for your feedback about it. Gonna try to learn up on how to do better on paint though. Guess all this robot could be is concept art for a flash game lol.

Thanks for the list! I will add this to favs and take a look when I can! As for shadeing I was gonna do that but need to practice and learn up on that too.

No problem! Also there's a shading lesson I typed up a bit ago here- you're at the skill level where it should be really useful.

I like how the people here are more supportive and less crude. Thank you for the help and funny thing before you posted that I was looking at the shading list with scribbling and hatching gonna try stipping on the robot next. This was done on ms paint but its better to exercise drawing by hand.

I am greatfull for everyones imput and thank everyone for giveing me tips, tools, tuts and links to help improve my drawings/art. Anymore imput or suggestions would be appreciated and stay awsome!

Dont be lazy. The spray can tool can be fine for shading in mspaint, but at least clean up the areas that broke out of the lines.

lol remove the pubic hairs dude. try the same only then using a darker color of the color youre shading on. dont use the spray tool just the regular brush

Nope. Instead of using the airbrush tool, you could've done something like this.
I wouldn't recommend using the airbrush tool for shading, 'cause it will make the character look hairy.

Wow! that looks way better then pube in a can lol. Huh I forgot about that kind of shading. I was doing it all wrong, great work with the shading there! Now that looks nice.

Gotta remember that when I want to shade another robot. The whole airbrush things seems more geared for organic creatures but not robots and when I mean organic I dont mean a creatures junk more for like shade in that sort but may not even go good that way either.

Well I still got reading to do and pleanty of room for improvement. Mind if I grab a copy of your shading Mownkey so I can study it?

I would really suggest starting from square one, you need many many improvements on the basics.

As for the robot it seems kinda fragile, like you could knock it over easily, maybe check out some pics of robots and get a sense for drawing them.
