For anybody who gives a fuck, I'm currently getting my nostalgia on watching Princess Mononoke. I saw this film when I was quite young and was a fan ever since. As I grew, I learned of the Ghibli legacy, from Totorro to Kiki to Howl's. But of all the quality, classic films they've brought us, Princess Mononoke will e my favorite. My question? What's yours?

I've never watched any of them.

I saw a good deal of Ponyo, but I never sat down and watched the whole thing.

Got to be Princess Mononoke or Spirited Away. But most of Ghilbi's stuff is golden with a few exceptions (Tales from Earthsea, anyone?).

You guys really enjoyed Tales from Earthsea? When Hayao Miyuzaki basically calls his son a failure, I think it's pretty much given that Goro made a crap movie.

It might not have the epic sweep of Princess Mononoke or Spirited Away, but My Neighbor Totoro is quietly pretty revolutionary. You can't find more subtle, patient storytelling in a kids' cartoon pretty much anywhere. Even WALL-E pussied out halfway through.

It's difficult to choose a favourite. I love about everything Hayao Miyazaki has made, from Nausicaa and Castle in the Sky to Ponyo and Howl's Moving Castle. I also love Grave of the Fireflies and Arrietty.

I think I'll go with Spirited Away because it is the film that introduced me to Studio Ghibli and also the reason I picked up a few more anime series and films. I'm sure I wouldn't have been remotely interested in them if I hadn't watched Spirited Away.

Well it wasn't complete crap. I thought the beginning was promising and the animation was good, but I had the feeling that there was a lot more to the books than the film portrayed.

Two other Ghibli films that I didn't like as much were Pom Poko and The Cat Returns. They just didn't have that same magic as other Ghibli films to me.
