Everyone gives it ridiculously good reviews so I thought I'd give it a watch.

It's basically Deathnote with mechs and some FullMetal-Alchemist-type subplot. Still good but not that original. There was like a 10 episode long slump too.
Anyone else here watched it?
Opinions?

It's overrated and overall mediocre. The first season was good, the second season was meh, and the ending was terrible.

I like the theme songs.

I tried to get into it when it was on TV, but I tuned in randomly so I couldn't get into it.

i'm guessing the good guys won in the end?

it's always the same. why do we as humans do this to ourselves? you might say it's for entertainment, but it's really just a distraction. it's meant to distract you from feeling that brief moment of anxiety when you realize that life doesn't make any sense, that the chair you're sitting in and the monitor you're reading don't even exist. but what is existence? i guess that's an entirely different subject for another time.

carry on

The show had a little difficulty working out what it was doing with it'self and its fanbase is atrocious. Beyond that however...

I happened to thoroughly enjoy the series, i didnt find any issue with following the storyline. Mind you i am someone who watches many murder mysteries and other mind-game type shows, everytrying to guess what the true aim/plan is. As for the ending, it depends on how you look at it, there are so many ways Lelouche could have rigged this, i personally think he survived in one of 2 ways, as C.C. is talking to him as if he can still hear her. One, Lelouche had taken C.C.'s geass insignia and so, was invincible, as C.C. doesnt have her insignia in the end scene; Two, The ninja servant lady could have taken Lelouche's place on the float; Yes this wasnt the happiest of endings, but i think it rather suited the theme of the show, just like the ending Angel Beats had, wasnt the happiest, but it was the best ending for the story to be completed.

Its nothing like that at all.

How is it not original? lol

Also yes, the second season does get slumpish.

Anyone else here watched it?

Your opinion is stupid.

I only watched the first season and decided I wouldn't watch the second season.

It was pretty decent but I didn't like how a lot of things weren't explained. There is a difference between mystery and wat the fuck is this shit

That's not entirely accurate. There are elements of Death Note, Gundam and even FMA within the series, but it's totally different plot-wise, and much more fast-paced and heavy on theatrics.

Opinions?

As a whole, Code Geass is one of the best anime series out there, mostly due to the fact that it's a fast paced series with plenty of open ended questions about politics and ideology between the Britannians and Lelouch. Yes, it is obviously jingoistic to a degree, and it's heavy on the fanservice, {due to the fact that CLAMP designs the art} but even with that, most of the characters aren't one-dimentional, and are even symphathic to a certain extent. I could go on and on, but it's just one of those series that you have to watch to fully grasp the themes of Code Geass, and its virtually unapologetic nature of the series, both from a stylistic and a ideological standpoint.

Oh, and before I forget, Kallen Kozuki. That is all.

Just stop worrying, and love the bomb.
